We are absolutely thrilled with the Jetwing.
From the concept behind it and from the implementation and the flight behavior. Hand launch, ground launch go without problems, the thing is fast, glides very well and makes us only fun, printed quickly, always fits in the car.

Acrylic spray works very well. Just don't use too dark colours because of the heat.

@@printpilot3d Thank you... I have a plane with black LWPLA parts... here in Australia where it gets to 40C in the summer black is a no no.. Thank you, good luck. Don't be surprised if you have the take-off position, it goes up in the sky quickly, it's supposed to. I have 2 flight phases with flight phase trim, and it works great. Report back how it was, I'm still very taken with it, was there again yesterday, always great. 20 flights so far.

@@printpilot3d I maidened my Jetwing this morning. Easy takeoff and only a click on right aileron trim needed. Got 3 flights in and am loving it!

For me it is difficult to describe in English, but for me the JetWing is almost no longer a printed model, in terms of stability and strength, and in terms of flying, perhaps now that you have one yourself you will understand what I mean better.

Like watching the trailer to a new movie... I will have to look into this more! I am hearing a few things, but I have never tried an EDF, because we don’t have an RC runway. But I think I might be able to run this one in our large grassy area.

Thank you! Hand launching is really good, it's not necessary to do it as hard as I did in the video, but with the Maiden, you want to be on the safe side 😉 .

How much PLA is needed for the full build ? and is it normal or LW pla ?

Most of it is LW-PLA, but I put a link in the description that takes you to the building instructions, where you can see exactly what is printed from LW-PLA.

Yes, I made a stencil and painted it. You can also see this in the preview video of the Jetwing (on the channel) 😉

@@printpilot3dgreat job indeed! Question: do you think I could print also the 2 rudders (for fuselage rudder version) as well as ailerons in LW-PLA, or better sticking to PLA as reported in the pdf? Thanks

I printed all the flaps and rudders in PLA+, depending on the speed the rudders will warp. But what will work is if you print the rudders and flaps with 2-3 lines (LW) to be on the safe side.

@@printpilot3dso far I printed 2 rudders in PLA, very robust indeed, but their total weight (15% infill, no geoid on them at the moment) is about 22gr. Maybe 6% geoid filling still with PLA could let save some weight with them...? Thanks again

Yes, I also only have 3% infill and the flaps. But if you are nothing else heavier with the other parts, you don't have to worry.

Well, each filament has its advantages and disadvantages, you can take both if you don't print too hot or too cold. If you have Facebook, we could exchange more info. It's a matter of taste.

If a large wing will appear in addition, I was considering it, because very likely the rudder will have little to no effect there. But I have two fuselages. So I would test with that first. You can fly more figures with rudder, and it's fast enough. For my part, I would always build with rudder (JetWing normal).

A new fuselage is quickly printed and the EDF quickly changed, fly it like this and if you are as enthusiastic as we are, print a second fuselage. For rolling in the grass I like to have the rudder.

Hi! Is it possible to recycle a 70 mm EDF from a Horizon´s Viper to build this amazing jet? specs of the EDF: 2860 - 1850 kv. 238 grms. 12 blades. 6S. Can the Jetwing fit a 5000 mAh 6S? Say yes and I´ll purchase the plans right away :D

Compare it with my EDF or with the recommended FMS, a small 6s should fit, I can only recommend mine and the FMS from my experience. If yours should fit, install it, but I would be careful with more than 2kg thrust, you must take the larger servos in any case. 6s 5000mAh is too big.
