My only problem being a Psychiatrist with spiritual leaders is when they explain about mental illness in spiritual and Psychological terms and then they say medications for Psychiatric illness is not necessary while at least in India most Psychiatrists are very tolerant and encourage their patients to look for spiritual solace also with medication In that way I feel all spiritual leaders should have some awareness about the need for medication in Psychiatric illnes Another thing is is Swamiji should quote more of indian texts and philosophers instead of American ones as audience would be able to better intrgrate that in indian settings Both having said this I am a fan of swamiji and draw a lot of inspiration from his talks Thank you Swamiji

The nature of grossly materialistic modern education system is such that it invariably attaches a false and inflated sense of self-importance to its learners, making him look down upon and belittle every other form of knowledge. It's so nice to see that the medical community is finally coming out of such an abject and hopeless mental attitude and at least giving an ear to our rich spiritual heritage in regards to subjects of common interest.

Materialists are sustained by the faith that science will redeem their promises, turning their beliefs into facts. Meanwhile, they live on credit. The philosopher of science Sir Karl Popper described this faith as "promissory materialism" because it depends on promissory notes for discoveries not yet made.

There is yet the realisation of the Absolute which is really beyond all question of immanence transcendence which is beyond all speech thought which the Upanishad try to describe mostly in negative terms it is neither conscious nor unconscious

In your other lecture you were speaking about non contact yoga what is the Sanskrit word you used for it ? How consciousness alone never needs to really connect with physical. a mirage can't wet sand because it isn't real there by we can't affect consciousness because we never contact it

If you are interested in the science of consciousness, you may want to see talks and read the research by Prof Mark Solms.

What happens to consciousness when the body dies is similar to asking what happens to the digestion when the stomach dies….. Digestion is not a thing but a function of the body , so consciousness too is a function of the brain….. No brain -No consciousness

In the Amarakoça Sanskrit dictionary the word mürti carries import in twofold meanings, namely, form and difficulty. Therefore amürtikam is explained by Äcärya Çré Viçvanätha Cakravarté Öhäkura as meaning "without difficulty." The transcendental form of eternal bliss and knowledge can be experienced by our original spiritual senses, which can be revived by chanting of the holy mantras, or transcendental sound representations. Such sound should be received from the transparent agency of the bona fide spiritual master, and the chanting may be practiced by the direction of the spiritual master. That will gradually lead us nearer to the Lord. This method of worship is recommended in the päïcarätrika system, which is both recognized and authorized. The päïcarätrika system has the most authorized codes for transcendental devotional service. Without the help of such codes, one cannot approach the Lord, certainly not by dry philosophical speculation. The päïcarätrika system is both practical and suitable for this age of quarrel. The Païcarätra is more important than the Vedänta for this modern age. SB 1.5.39

Ancient spiritual practices of ALL RELIGIONS???😢I am not a politically correct person. Only Dharmic religions have inward looking “ spirituality “. Abrahamic religions are outward looking Swamy ji.
