Good to see you back mate 👍 You should tape your seems on the insulation, as that helps with the vapour barrier and heat transfer.

With the door sill on the inside, is the idea to make that flush height wise with the floor finish/laminate?, will be interesting to know what underfloor heating system you are using, warmup maybe?

Video will be uploaded tomorrow on this 👍 We aim to get the laminate about 5mm lower than the threshold on these builds. We can do level threshold with outside steps but the base has to be done totally different ect.

Great series!! Would you use this floating floor system for heavy gym equipment?

Yes we have used it before for a full gym and it’s absolutely fine. Could go for 22mm boards to be extra safe 👍

Is there a reason you have gone with the floating floor and not but joists in to screw the boards down? Thanks

No need, would be a waste of wood as floating floor is solid. Plus you would get more thermal bridging with wood so it’s works out well 👍

What is the size of the insulation 70 or 100mm PIR?

Floor insulation is 90mm

How does that tie in with the wall frame? Are you not using 4"x2" Timber? Does the insulation go up past the base plate of the wall if it is 90mm?@@creategardenrooms Thanks again for taking the time out to answer any questions we have. Great series.

@@creategardenrooms I had the same question. If you are using 4 x 2 for the base timber + the cill height of the doors I assumed it was 50mm insulation with 18mm chipboard that then ran level the threshold. How does 90mm fit?
