A better way to remember. If prop walk in reverse is clockwise then the boat's preference is to 180 clockwise. Don't confuse yourself with combinations of terms like right, port, forward, left, reverse and starboard. Relax... There's just ONE WORD to remember, this boat wants to short-turn clockwise or anticlockwise. Then do the whole backwards/forwards thing with the wheel turned in that direction. If you can stop worrying about remembering that stuff you can concern yourself with watching your drift...due stream or wind age.

Great series. However, my twister with a trim tab will not go backwards under any control, other tactics are required :-)

I'm new to sailing but I presume you took the preventer off before you centred the main.
