Important to note, the Quran says that the Children of Israel shall come to power only twice. So the fact that Israel came to power again in 1948 could mean that the second promise did not happen in the past but is happening right now.

@@saharnouri8110 they may have been powerful after Solomon but they were obeying Allah. Allah continued to send prophets to them after Solomon up until the time of Isa (Jesus). As Muslims, we can only try to understand when the two times are, but only Allah knows. Many modern scholars are saying this is the second time now because Allah says there will be two, and only two times. There will not be a third time of corruption and evil

In it (this holy land) are a people of great strength, and we shall never enter it, till they leave it; when they leave, then we will enter." (22) Two men of those who feared (Allâh and) on whom Allâh had bestowed His Grace (they were یوشع وکالب yusha and Kâlab) said: "Assault them through the gate, for when you are in, victory will be yours, and put your trust in Allâh if you are believers indeed." (23) They said: "O Mûsa (Moses)! We shall never enter it as long as they are there. So go you and your Lord and fight you two, we are sitting right here." (24) He [Mûsa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! I have power only over myself and my brother, so separate us from the people who are the Fâsiqûn (rebellious and disobedient to Allâh)!" (25) (Allâh) said: "Therefore it (this holy land) is forbidden to them for forty years; in distraction they will wander through the land. So be not sorrowful over the people who are the Fâsiqûn (rebellious and disobedient to Allâh)." (26) Have they not travelled through the land, and have they hearts wherewith to understand and ears wherewith to hear? Verily, it is not the eyes that grow blind, but it is the hearts which are in the breasts that grow blind. (46) And We decreed for the Children of Israel in the Scripture, indeed you would do mischief in land twice and you will become tyrants and extremely arrogant! (4) So, when the promise came for the first of the two, We sent against you slaves of Ours given to terrible warfare. They entered the very innermost parts of your homes. And it was a promise (completely) fulfilled. (5) Then We gave you, a return of victory over them. And We helped you with wealth and children and made you more numerous in man - power. (6) (And We said): "If you do good, you do good for your ownselves, and if you do evil (you do it) against yourselves." Then, when the second promise came to pass, (We permitted your enemies) to disgrace your faces and to enter the mosque (of Jerusalem) as they had entered it before, and to destroy with utter destruction all that fell in their hands. (7) [And We said in the Taurât (Torah)]: "It may be that your Lord may show mercy unto you, but if you return (to sins), We shall return (to Our Punishment). And We have made Hell a prison for the disbelievers. (8)

I think based on these two verses, Hell is the promise for the corrupters if they don't repent. Even though they might get away with their actions in this world and avoid consequences, they can't avoid Hell in the hereafter. That is the promise. Allah knows best.

I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law (the law Eve transgressed because the devil has deceived her). But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. This clearly tell us that God has done his part, and it is entirely up to each and everyone of us to accept what the angel Gabriel announced as the good news to all people on earth. Luke 2:1-14. For only rejecting this good news of salvation which will automatically make us under the condemnation of our soul and spirit; and theis is what the Bible calls the second death in Revelation 20:12-15

And Prophet Abraham practised Monotheism. He, as well as Jesus Christ were Monotheistic, because the Abrahamic Faiths are Monotheistic in essence. The ahadith in Bukhari and other collections support the end of israel interpretation some have found in the Quran, at least the end of the state of israel in its current form may not be pleasant for the current occupiers from 1948.

Dr Shabir was right regarding the two events had come to past, the following verse which states " If you return, We will return" confirmed the two events had taken place. Meanwhile, this ayah is one of the uncleared verses in the Quran except you are able to connect the dots in other verses and Allah knows best. This verse (Isra) did not leave out some verses in Surah Anbya verse 95-96 where Allah reminded us of A city that was destroyed to a total destruction and the people of the city are forbidden to return to it (this is because Allah knew their return will still take them back to their sin) which could link up to the Surah Isra " If you return, We will return". Allah said: (95) It is prohibited to a city which We have destroyed that they will ever return (96) Until Gog and Magog has been open and they from every elevation descend" (Q21v95-96), meaning there will be a return to the Land but not by the Children of Israel which explained the Children of Israel will only commit transgression on the land twice and both event had come to past. The people currently committing transgression on the Land are not Children of Israel, they are impostor (Zionist- Gog and Magog) disguising as the Children of Israel. Allah is perfect is His verses as event unfold in our eyes. There is a crucial reason Allah asked them (Children of Israel) not to return but i will stop here. Allah Knows Best

I don’t always agree with yasir Qadi but he is more correct then Shabir on the interpretation of this verse. The verse clearly says that the first promise came to pass, but Quran doesn’t say the second promise came to pass. People like Shabir just assume that it already happened because he is confused with how many times the temple was destroyed. But the verse doesn’t even mention the destruction of the temple. Instead the Quran says that some group will reinter the masjid as they entered it the first time. And this can only be speaking about the Muslims and not the Romans in time of Jesus.

I have to view such "tea-leaf-reading" sessions carefully. It disquiets my faith to have folks read between the lines in the Quran so as to determine what God will and will not do. God will guide who He guides, bestow ease on who He determines and erase who He will erase. Wanting to predict or anticipate what God is about sometimes almost seems like a kind of shirk. (IMHO).

"Destruction of Israel" carries many connotations, thus open to interpretation. Just like the Bible. But here's a question: the state of Israel was born hundreds of years AFTER the Quran was written. Could the word hint at a collective mindset or person rather than a geographical location. I'm not religious, but have interest in such books and how they are interpreted, along with their various interpretations.

The mercy was mentioned before the conditional statement not after. It is best to consult with a true Arabic language scholar, for early commentaries were not very exact sometimes. There are hints in the text to point to the current events, the word (NAFEER) was mentioned as the leverage they will be capable of. Nafeer, means to summon soldiers for the battle and we see how 100,000 extra soldiers have volunteered to help the massive force of the oppressors against few ill-equipped defenders.

Yes it will be built according to prophecy. They have everything ready, including the red heifers to sacrifice. They don't need an extraordinary building. What they do need is the counterfeit Jesus or Imam Mahdi to give permission to rebuild the temple on the temple Mount. Only one of these two could convince the Muslim people not to riot. What a contrast between the Koran and the Hebrew scriptures. The Hebrew Scriptures do not have a single hint that Israel will be completely destroyed. Quite the opposite. Speaking of prophecy you should look into the Bible's prophecy in regards to the 1,260 years which is mentioned in a few locations in the New Testament that I'm aware of and possibly the Old Testament. Excuse my rude manner. Part 2 because people want to fit in their ideas in to it but couldn't. You explaind beautifully that it is in the past, and that makes more sense! But people being people :D Old testament, "IF you uphold my covenant...", it sounds the same as you talked about here. He is not making sense at all! He is counting the number of times the temple was destroyed , and then assumes because biblical history says it was destroyed 2 times, that Allah is referring to the same 2 times. But Allah doesn’t even mention the destruction of the temple. So the 2 times the Quran mentions has nothing to do with the 2 times that people like Shabir interpret the verse. The Quran is speaking about 2 times will be in power in Palestine and then become extremely arrogant. The first time was the kingdom of David and Solomon and second time is kingdom of Rotchild and Balfour. You can’t count the time of the second temple in time of Jesus because the Romans were ruling at that time
