BUT Genesis tells us that Abraham never had the land even for his burial so his sons Ishmael and Isaac purchased the land and buried their father Abraham. So forget the promise with Abraham. Now the promise with his seed. So again according to Bible Ishmael was also refered as Abraham's seed not more then 12 times. So, why can't children of Ishmael live in the promised land? Another point, when someone promise something, it means upon the performance the promise will be fulfilled, which sorry to say children of Israel failed to do so.
