The fact that this resonates so clearly... even on into high school and college for me... I've always been made fun of my voice (mezzo tone, but 1st soprano notes range), and managed to get my first solo in choir my senior year of high school.... People (fellow students and friends) told me I was "bad" because I didn't emulate the singer from the recording... I just... sounded like me. Then going into college voice lessons as a vocal music major... a voice class in front of other vocal major TERRIFIED me... it was known that I LOVED listening to K-pop and J-rock... and people told me that I sounded too much like that and didn't have enough classical technique when I was only... maybe a year into official lessons and more easily belt for Broadway style songs or rock.

And wasnt she a very good teacher then! Look at you bow, Mrs.L! (Legend!) ❤

I have similar power but I didn't have a teacher tell me to keep singing. I mainly heard, "blend" from those around me. I have difficulty with hitting a Soprano Range note without putting Diaphragmic Power behind it. That makes it seriously difficult for me to Mezzo Piano, Piano, or Pianissimo those notes. In order to blend, Piano or Pianissimo is required. Any suggestions I can use?

I could definitely use this to improve even the slightest bit possible. I'm an alto 1 in choir, and I sometimes play the middle part, which includes supreno 2. 😅

As a kid, my siblings always told me i was terrible and it hurt so much back then, but now writing my own songs and finally getting to a point where i can start to sing without whispering has been amazing. i never thought i'd be able to get there and my confidence is continuing to grow. this video is so inspirational

I was blessed to get my first solo and acting parts at 11 for our elementary school production. Unfortunately, we moved to a much larger city and my talents and self esteem were crushed. I decided to take parts into my own hands and got a duet during the city's all-school concert. My friend Janice and i sang the special soprano parts.

U just gave me lots of courage bc all of my classmates laughed at me and my friends and our school choir(were in it)and it hurt SO MUCH. Thats why im like so scared to sing in front of them. Also, i usually take my position in the front as a leader and with at least 2 to3 to even 4 in front😅😅😅😅😊
