Sweet little Elizabeth! 🤗 Kami, you were SO cute when you are little (and you still are)! ;) It's great being able to watch The Waltons on ME-TV! Also, I love how you and Judy Norton are doing these videos! We are enjoying learning about the "behind the scenes" of the show! My family and I usually watch a Waltons episode once every weekend. My favorites are the ones with John-Boy and Grandpa in them. :)

@@kami-cotler I need to watch the entire series again. It's been a while. I remember being 7 or 8 1972 or so and watching a Thanksgiving show..maybe it was Christmas maybe a replay of the first movie and thinking how great this show was. I'm sure you realize the impact this show had on people's lives. Hopefully the younger generation watches it.

Messy hair = authentic. When I was a kid my hair was never perfect more than a few minutes after combing. One aspect of films I never liked is how actors looked too perfect. So instead of getting into the story, I start thinking about the hair & makeup crews on the set. Your scenes looked so authentic thanks to the messy hair.

Your hair made you even more adorable, and the scene authentic. In fact, I loved the answer from John, "hiding behind one of your Mama's smiles". It was such an appropriate answer to say to a child, even if it went over her head. The fact that the director had her pause, look back, showed that she was cognitive of the answer, even if she didnt understand the implication behind it, that she came as a result of their love for each other. Beautiful line and episode. John Crawford played in a lot of westerns. I remember seeing him in quite a few. Thank you, Kami, for another thought-provoking video.

I personally like the look of shows in the 70s and 80s when they used to be put onto film. but I wonder if it had its challenges, like not being able to review it right away to see how it looks and the editing being much harder to do. Very good video. Thanks for sharing.

Kami, you and Ralph had my favorite exchange of all here (around 3:34-3:44) When Elizabeth asked Daddy "where did you find me" and Daddy said "Hiding behind one of your Momma's smiles, honey." That was such a sweet answer, and had to be my favorite line (though there were a lot of lines that were favorites). This show had such great writers who wrote with such heart. (Posted before watching the part about the scene all the way through. But in the 30's many parents probably would not have discussed "the birds and the bees" at such a young age, which was probably what the writer's were thinking when they wrote the dialogue for that scene.)
