did you buy fish from the fishing boat? cant get fresher fish than that I noticed the air intakes on the outside that can be watersealed with hatches what are they for? it surely cant be the for the engines since you need to run them even in heavy weather you only have a single engine? can you use the shottwl to maneuver in case the main engine fails ?

The fishing boat gave us some fish but we do not pay for it. They are very kind The air intakes are always left open and are only closed if there is a fire. The Schottel is no good for driving the ship unless the wind is less than 10 knots :(

I have a question! I’ve seen a lot of your videos and I always wonder, when in 100ft+ seas, how do you keep the bow in the waves? Does the autopilot or manual steering keep her in the waves? Do you use bow/stern thrusters to adjust position when she veers too much? It always seems like you guys are not moving, at how many kts do you travel in when in the utmost extreme conditions? I’m not sure we get much in the way of 100ft waves but sometimes we’re not far from it. When a big wave is approaching from ahead, we reduce speed to minimise impact then increase again once the wave has past to bring us back into course and regain steerage. The autopilot does most the steering but occasional hand steering is required for the really big ones. We try and do about 2 knots in these conditions.

@@helenw7054 In all seriousness, if Corona did gain a foothold onboard It would probably spread fast , Just like it did on Cruise ships, due to really close quarters..But it seems to affect people differently. Friend's mum middle aged, slim, nearly died of it in ICU, but the rest of the family in the same house all had it, but weren't in need of hospital treatment. The Mum is a Medic, so caught the virus at work, most likely, and took it home.
