Next step for you in the tig welding is to, try to weld pipes in so you would not have to top so often. Weld looks so much nicer when there is only one or two continuations. Love your work keep it going!
@Garageaholic
@Garageaholic 4 жыл бұрын
Interesting. never thought of that. I am still learning every day, but I see your point about lifting. I need to control my heat better I think.
@psavel274
@psavel274 4 жыл бұрын
Your TIG skills have gotten much better. The smaller diameter wire helps keep the excess 'pooling' down, and the chamfered edges where the pipes join give the weld better penetration and keeps it lower. Good stuff. Its probably the quietest N54 I've ever heard as well, which is great if you like quiet cars. The only criticism I have is that extra bleed point you installed. It's not really necessary with the expansion tank already being plenty high, and the extra fitting is just asking for a leak. If you have trouble bleeding from that x5 tank, just crack the bleeder and jack the car up from the front to make it even higher. Should really have no issues. Cooling systems are under a good amount of pressure, and need that pressure to function properly. I am not a fan of the 'double walled' tips either. Single wall looks the best, but this is just my opinion. The charge pipes and e-box look good painted like you did. Nice color compliment. 👍💪😎
@Garageaholic
@Garageaholic 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Pete, I remember your comments ;) Ok First, thanks for the kudos on the welding. I've been trying to learn and the double walled tips were an attempt to do something unique. I'm curious as to how they'd look with the Mtech2 bumper on, so we'll see. It was technically more challenging than a single wall 3" tube for sure. Maybe next time! Agree with you on the secondary bleeder actually as I've learned from the few test drives i've done recently. I have PLENTY of heat in the cabin and no overpressure tubings, so I think it's fine w/o that bleeder. Thanks for being a fan man. Appreciate it.
