Initially the trans didn't look bad but closer inspection revealed it obviously sat with some water in it.
I pass along a few things to look for when your inspecting a motorcycle trans.

Sounds like your motor needs to file for a divorce from that transmission!

I apologize for not answering your question earlier; somehow I just noticed your question today. This engine is a 1959 Harley-Davidson 900 cc XLCH Sportster.
