Күн бұрынQuick update after the holidays on XLCH progress and waiting on parts. In this video, we're going over the transmission for this 1972ish XLCH. Overall it was in pretty good shape, but time will tell. I'll be posting one quick follow up video with some better angles on disassembly after this since I realized some of the framing was off in this version. Just a quick cleanup and re use of gears. Now the never ending waiting game of other parts....

why dont you show us how you space the gears from start to finish as different worn or replace of parts will alter it since its so simple

If I had to adjust this transmission further I would. You are 100% correct in the importance of spacing and making sure everything is shimmed and setup properly. The last ironhead I had came with a blown up case and hours and hours of re adjustment to make work proper. I got lucky on this one and everything seems to be in good order

What's causing my transmission 2nd and 3rd gear popping out

Could be lots of things. popping out while riding and already in gear?

@@WrenchingWreckedI’m having troubles with mine when I let out of it 4th seems to fall out of gear then when I get back into it it’ll spin like it’s in neutral for a full revolution then clash back together and grab????
