Part 7 Ford Mondeo Mk 3 Dual Mass Flywheel Failure Bleeding The LUK Slave Cylinder Install Gearbox
In this video we bleed the Mondeo Mk3 Clutch Slave Cylinder made by LUK and show the way we solved this system. There are very little instructions on doing this job and there were no instructions with this LUK Clutch kit so I hope this video helps you out.

I've bled slave cylinders but did it just like you were originally doing it. It's always worked but took some effort. I'll have to try it the way you described at the end.

+sixtyfiveford Yes it was a different way I hadn't done before. There were no instructions in the kit either but I found a pdf online but even that wasn't very clear. Cheers Martin

I hate them bleeding things. Made me laugh mate. I think bleeding them things & having someone helping lift the gearbox in place can sometimes turn the air blue if it don't go right after a few attempts. I used to hear my dad giving my brother a ball bashing in the garage while I was keeping out of it pissing my self laughing. Great videos mate I know the score I've been a mechanic 30 +years keep it up

Nice video Martin. I've had a few "domestics" when my wife has helped me with car stuff in the past. The worst one was when recently unloading a small lathe from a transit - that took several days for relations to restore to normal!

Love your videos , especially repairs on Mondi, I have mk3 wagon petrol as well and I did few jobs on mine, but clutch was too much. Interesting thing is that replacement of the clutch kit on mine was pretty much the same price as in UK, which is hard to believe considering that Ford prices here in New Zealand especialy for parts are plain robbery. Ha! Ha! At the end of this clip I was waiting for you to kiss your lady after the little rant and you did not dissapoint. I like how spontanious and relax you are . Wish you and your wife all the best.

Job well done...where LUK clutch replacement kit sare so remiss in providing instructions, and retailers ought to be more supportive. What's the point of off-loading LUK kit with no advice on or provision ofother materials needed in the fitment process - Eurocarparts!

@@retrorestore Your bleed valve looked relatively simple compared to the Mk2 rs225 megane one, what a pain in the rear that is! Can't get at it from above(factory welded in battery tray!) and below you can just grasp it, it's the depress clip and pull out type bleeder. It sometimes took me a good hour or two of swearing to just to get the bleed to come out into the first bleed position(bought new one, no easier? ) , it's stupid, yet with the whole clutch line off the car a three year old could do it, it's so simple not in-situ?? Weird? Three times i've just tried to fit a dual mass and self adjusting clutch to it, first time no clutch disengagement, second time 'new' slave burst in bellhousing while bleeding(no gears again too) !! Then third time success, why success? Two and a half thousand people told me you don't need the self adjust clutch fitting tool, including factory service manual, Haynes etc 'one' person was adamant i needed it or no gears! ? And i ignored him,at a great cost to my nerves and wallet, never been so close to torching a car! :-) Very entertaining videos by the way, thanks!

Ok so I have a question. I am doing exactly as you said. And the clutch is finally getting hard and coming back up on its own. But still when I twist that bleeder half way still get a loud swish sound. So I guess still more air.??? Its been a while

Hi, I have a problem with my car, a Ford Focus 2010, the reverse gear sometime locks, to avoid that I need to release and press the clutch pedal, and then it works, I suspect that the clutch hidraulic system could have air inside, today I tried to bleed the slave cylinder, it is similar to the one in your car, but no fluid came from the valve, I had a person pressing the pedal, and I noticed that when the pedal keept pressed the valve became very hard to close, in the video it looks very easy, I use a brake bleeder tool, but no liquid came from the cylinder. Any suggetion would be really appreciate. Thanks for your videos.
@retrorestore
@retrorestore 7 жыл бұрын
it was hard to turn when the pedal was pressed first. Try opening it first and then pressing the pedal down and then shutting the valve with the pedal down and once the valve is shut, the pedal can be released. Repeat until you see no more air in the fluid.
