@@RobertPinette ur right, but also try to understand from selena's perspective, maybe she believed yolanda was more mature than she actually was, that they could meet like adults; hand the papers over and never speak again. throughout selena's life, a gun was never mentioned until the very end; she had no reason to expect violence in general when for the previous 23 years she had rarely come across it. + for sel, the public was already pressuring her when the embezzlement rumors had not caught up, she may have wanted everything to calm down hence made decisions without considering her own safety first.

The crazy thing is Yolanda could have probably gone to Selena and said "I need to borrow a million dollars, im in trouble!" And Selena had such a good heart and so much love for the people around her that selena would have given it to her without a second thought, the world lost a beautiful bright star that day, all over something as silly as money and dishonesty...
