Did this same winch set up today, for the $ can’t be beat, my rancher wiring was on the left side of the bike however so I followed it. Going to secure my solenoid like yours. I did buy the Honda pigtail ($16) for the “hot wire” plugs right in and I can add a 12v or heated grips now if I want.

The hole that is in the left side under cover is an accessible hole for the shifting mechanism if it ever decides to not wanna go into gear the wrench honda provides you with is used to get it back into gear

In reference Bad Lands winch 3500, did you use different hardware to mount the winch to the bracket? I’m using the bolts that came with it and they seem to be too long.

How do I figure out which KFI winch mounting plate to get if the KFI site does not list badlands winches? I have a 2012 Rancher TRX420FM. I'm trying to install a Badlands 2500 winch. I purchased the ATV mounting plate from Harbor Freight, will that work?

I’m going to give this a shot on my ‘21 Rancher, but I’m still confused about how to use the pigtail. I’m really new at this and it’s probably going right over my head. On the diagram provided in the winch owner’s manual, where would the pigtail and accessory sub harness fit into the picture?

installed a 3500lb on a 2022 520 and it kicked my ass.. finally got it and its great but i have one issue that bothers me.. maybe someone had this issue.. well when bolting back the 4 main frame bolts near the radiator it seem to not want to thread in smoothly i even tried turning it counterclockwise and waiting for it to seat properly before I begin to thread in.. using a ratchet it just seems not right so I backed it out inspected the threads and they seem to be misshaped not cross threaded just flattened almost. i this just a common issue? and where can I get some factory replacement bolts.. everything is bolted back together and it is holding tight it's just me knowing it is not right that's bothering me.

Would that work on a 4x2 rancher? It's a 2013 with the 420.

Man I'm trying to do this. Got the winch installed doing electrical now. And I cant figure out how to remove the plastic on the right side to run my wires. I got seat and battery cover off and the obvious plastic tabs. But the black cover middle top above the letter n in rubicon. How do I remove the top black plastic and the rest of the side

I agree with you, who the hell wants to submerge their $10,000 ATV in muddy water. Not my idea of fun. That’s why I would never buy a used one.
