These are the basic parts of multi-shaft floor looms. This loom is a 36” LeClerc Artisat jack loom, but these parts apply to most floor looms.

I would like to learn how to do operate a loom like this so - subscribed. Btw How long does it take to set up for say a 3 colour tarten ?

Thank you! I have plans to make a beginner basics video series for floor looms. How long it takes to set up is variable and depends on a lot of factors: thread type/size, project width, number of ends (individual threads), type of loom, weaver experience, if you have a helper, and more. It is the longest and (I think) most complex part of weaving. Mine can take anywhere from 8 hours to 24 hours from measuring the first thread to ready to weave. I rarely do it all at once, and usually break it up across several days or a couple of weekends. It’s the foundation of your whole project, and if it’s done well the weaving part is easy. I can teach almost anyone (including small children and inebriated adults lol) a basic weave in 5 minutes. Teaching to warp (the set up process) takes weeks or months of practice.
