We will see the names of the different parts of a transistor. We will also explore some aspects related to the design of a practical transistor.

Class 12 Semiconductors: We cannot imagine our life without computers today. But what makes a computer tick? What's making this technology grow at such an exponential rate? It's all due to semiconductors. As unbelievable as that might sound, altering the properties of semiconductors allows us to build these computers. In this topic, we will explore the world of semiconductors. It's a journey from what semiconductors are all the way to creating building blocks of these computers.

7:27 Instead of increasing the length, can't we increase the area of cross section of the transistor with the length of emitter and collector being same?
@vitaminprotein9
@vitaminprotein9 4 ай бұрын
As we also have to increase cross section area of emitter..then it will be difficult to heavily dope the emitter...small area=heavy doping is easy ....so instead length is increased

Is collector base is reversed biased or collector emitter is reversed biased?
@KhanAcademyIndiaEnglish
@KhanAcademyIndiaEnglish 5 жыл бұрын
I remember having this doubt while studying transistors :). Although the connection is between the collector and emitter, there is no junction between them. There are only two junctions collector base and base emitter, so it's only those junctions that can be biased, either forward or reverse. Hope this clarifies your doubt :)
