Parts Swap on two Pfaff 130

I combine two non-working Pfaff 130 sewing machines into one heavy duty sewing icon of my dreams!
I do not recommend using Christmas lights as a power cord. No, the light bulb wasn't dead, it was replaced with a new one minutes before testing. No, I am not sure that the Christmas light cord even provided enough power to start the machine, therefore I am not certain that the old motor definitively is shot.

The metal pin you lost goes into the hollow axle of the tensioner. Without it, the tension will not be released once you lift the presser foot. You got lucky that the old one got stuck inside the machine, so by accident, it works. You should really re-wire both motor and pedal, this crusty cable is an accident waiting to happen.

The one thing oil is essential. 3 n 1 sewing machine oil. Glad your machine is up and running I bet they both work with a working motor and oil on the other machine!

I have made sure the new machine is well oiled, however the old one was previously a parts machine and is already missing pieces it needs to sew, like feed dogs and other parts in the bobbin area. I originally purchased it to be decorative and knew it wasn’t functioning, so I got it for a good price!

I just ordered a pfaff 139, looks like power cord for 130 will fit my pfaff. I need to order power cord with foot pedal. I enjoyed your video, I also like working on vintage machines but do not have your skills!

Do you happen to know what type of screw and the measurements of the engine support screw?

I'm in Canada I got the Pfaff 130machine for sale! It's got an embroidery attachment as well so it is 130-6 actually, 1954. Will not refuse a reasonable offer
