Hi Everyone and Welcome to Promethean Sewing Machines, where I am unashamedly rebelliously creative when it comes to taking old forgotten sewing machines and bringing them back to life in a beautiful way.
I know, I know, I can hear you though the Wi-Fi... but wait, she turned out amazingly fabulous. I shall call her Yolanda! This is an abbreviated version of my process, as you'll see, but for die hard Pfaff 130 fans, I think it is nice to see one of these beauties that doesn't give the vibe of an angry general. Know what I mean?

I love the industrial black and chrome of the Pfaff 130, but I'm a dude. Kudos to you though, you just dove right in and made it your own. And what a fantastic collection you've created!

Love the blues and the flowers. Have had Pfaffs' since the 70's, great machines to sew on, always known for their power. Have an old Singer hand crank that needs help, maybe one day I will get brave.

Oh my gosh!!! That color!!! LOVE!! I learned to see on a Singer Touch and Sew so those are the machines I’ve been collecting… now I’m starting to think about taking one apart … literally just thinking about it lol!! I’m going to be watching more of your makeovers!

Hello, just find your video's, you pronounced the city in Germany correctly and your machine was built in 1953. She's a beauty. I have a 1952 Pfaff 130, love her.

That is a lovely sounding machine. Great colour. Hope your buttonhole attachment works well on Yolanda Pfaff. Be really good to see the embroidery working too in time.

I don't know, I've been looking for a few years now. I've looked in the European machine groups, I've looked all over online, not much hope right now but I'm still not giving up.

I just got a pfaff 130, and i have a feeling the piece that was upsidedown in yours may also be wonky in mine. I'm having a heck of a time with the zig zag setting. It was frozen, so I unfroze it, but now the zig zag is so wide, the needle hits the plate... Do you have any ideas/resources I could look at for a hint at how to fix it? I was hoping you'd put it back together on film here for my own selfish reason :D

Well, they are confusing machines but so worth it once dialed in. On facebook join the Pfaff 130 Owners Resource Group, then in the files section look for the service manual. Good luck. You can do this.

Did you have any issues with the cleated timing chain being soaked in the kerosene? I have a gummy timing chain on my 130 that I need to clean.

I only soaked it for about an hour. And cleating was fine. I have no idea how it would react if it was soaked any longer or if it was in rough condition before I put it in. But so far so good.
