We we've been eating with the locals for the last week and not only has the food been incredible but the conversation has been even better. We're getting a real understanding of what it's like to be Mauritian... the good and the bad. What an experience.

We are Eleise and Lawrence & Nyh - A young family from the south of England. Like many people the pandemic gave us a shake up! While watching hours of Mark Weins in Thailand - We had our “Ah ha” Moment. We decided we wanted to travel.
Enjoying working for ourselves, we didn’t want to give up our business and decided it was entirely possible for us to do both. So we set about making it our lifestyle to work in the UK for a month, and then travel for a month - month on, month off…. until our little boy Nyh goes to school! We want to inspire people that you don’t have to up-sticks, sell all your belongings and leave behind family to be able to see the world.

The pancake you had at the start is roti. The yellow curry in it is actually big peas (lima beans) not potato. The tomato based sauce is commonly known as ‘rougaille’. It’s like the Napoletana sauce to the italians 😂 I’m glad you guys enjoy the food, I am actually salivating while watching - specially the dumplings part! Glad to hear you mentioning the prices too! Rotis used to be 5 Rupees when I was in primary school.

Hi I am glad you are enjoying my island Mauritius 🇲🇺 . I am from England too and we be visiting my home Mauritius for in 2 weeks time for a months. Can’t wait to eat some delicious food eg dhall puri, lechee mangoes and more.

We always travel like this, staying outside of the super touristy areas + eat where the locals do. The places with plastic furniture have the best food! Baha though that last place, a bit of a surprise!…When they brought Nhy’s meal and described plate contents…the chicken, salad, + fries…I thought uh oh, that’s going to be a bit pricier than they were expecting 😂

Hi PTTF. Love your videos. We’re going in May for three weeks. We also will be staying in Troy d’eau Douce for a few days. Will definitely go to the market. Will you be uploading any vids from the north of the island? We’re staying mostly there. Ps the squash salad you had at Sam’s is made with the big yellow strangely shaped squash called Pâtisson! I love it! Happy travelling. Nye is just adorable.

Hello Lawrence, Eleise and little Nyh. I cannot call your boy little any more. He has grown since the last video of Thailand. He is very handsome, and a good kid. I am looking forward to my trip to Koh Samui. Lawrence how do you manage your travel insurance. I just priced a few and for 8 nights. It is nearly the price of a plane ticket. I have a feeling everybody is trying to make up for the lost earnings, during the Pandemic.

Hey Victor!! Great to hear from you. Fortunately, we have insurance for travel through our bank. Flights are really expensive too at the moment. Hope they come down next year... but i doubt it 🖤🖤🖤

Hope u had a good time in mtius I find that indian food in mtius is different and better than Indian food in Sydney Same with Chinese food Don't know about England
