I had a friend from somali. I remember when she came home one day my mom made a vegetarian biryani with paneer as a special dish (I'm an Indian). We started eating and my mom didn't provide me with any cutlery as I always ate with hands. She saw that and she was shocked. In the end we proceeded to eating with our hands and she loved the dish and said how similar it was to her own mom's cooking. Food really brings countries together

Exactly, I saw a news article by business insider and they were like Somalia is worse than Yemen and Syria. This is false, we are struggling yes but only like Mogadishu. We are happy yet westerners pity us. We don’t need pity. And don’t you realise a connection? Every civil war, America gets involved and makes it worse. And many people argue about the land because Somalia is a gold and oil rich country like most of its neighbours such as Kenya and Ethiopia. Go search Mogadishu on google and war and corruption comes up. Then search xamar or muqdisho(Mogadishu but in Somali) and see what comes up.💓 🇸🇴

Love the fact she ate with her hands . Shows the viewers the diversity in culture throughout the world !! Really love it when people embrace their culture and traditions wether others see it as different I think that’s what brings people together . The fact that we all live on the same planet and sometimes fail to respect other cultures . We all are human and should feel entitled to Being us . Ig@alvarommarin

I remember other students in my high school watch a documentary and they were like "eww Indians eat with their hands" while they grab disgusting burgers and fries with their hands on a daily basis. Shows how much ignorance there is still in the world.

So happy to have found this. My friend from Nigeria make this usually but I don’t know how she made it and I can’t get a similar recipe online. Will definitely make this because I miss her and with the uncertain environment we have right now, I don’t know when we could travel and meet again

@hely1108
@hely1108 5 жыл бұрын
@Alex you're talking about the canary islands, Cape Verdeans are the descendents of African slaves with mixture of various European people mostly Portuguese. We are most definitely African although our culture is very similar to people from the Caribbean.

@Alex I know you're trolling but still, we did not have a choice if we wanted to mix or not. Do you get the concept of slavery? If a Portuguese master wanted to fuck his slaves they did not have a choice.

I’m an African American 👩🏽‍🦱 and I recently have been cooking a lot of African cuisines. I wanted to embrace African culture 🌼 more in addition to my American culture. I took one of those DNA 🧬 test and I’m half Nigerian, Kenyan and Sierra Leonean. Seeing these dishes made was awesome I’ve had to opportunity to eat and make them💛. Food is love, culture is love and Africa is life. ✌🏾
