What do you think of the Paselec GS9 Plus fat tire electric bike? Note that Paselec reached out and said this model may have had an old controller meaning this could have impacted how the motor performed.

My controller went out on mine with only using it for one season. Still waiting for it to ship. From what I read it’s very common and not easy to fix. Some people waited over six months and still didn’t receive the part. I hope that’s not my case.

I just lay the bike down on the grass to remove and install the battery it's easier and it don't scratch up 😊

I sell these as well. Interesting, the company you reference, though using the name Paselec isn't the company in China who actually makes these, but a Lithuanian company with an office in the US.

Great review and cool footage. I got the non plus one and couldn't figure out that power switch at the bottom for a bit, there is nothing in the included instructions about having to turn that on. The rear lights that came with mine were not the right size. It is a great bike but a bit concerning that they are shipping these with random issues, people not as into bikes as you won't be able to figure out.

Great video! Can you upgrade the suspension, brakes and saddle? How about the groupset? Can you use the rear hub drive in other wheelsets? 🙂

I guess in theory you could but you'd probably be better off buying an ebike with the specs you want.

I ordered one last week. Hasnt arrived yet but i had some questions and I have emailed and called serveral times and got nothing. Guess thay means I wont be getting any warranty. Maybe they are going out of business

Only worse is a battery you can not take off the bike.

That's true - definitely better for people who don't plan to remove the battery.

You can take it out of the bike. It's designed that way for both waterproofing and anti-theft. With on tube batteries, common for thieves to screw driver the lock and slide the battery out.

How did you know your detailer was wrong? I have the 9 speed GS9-Plus, but the detailer is the Shimano Tourney 6/7 speed, and my chain slips on the highest gear. Is this the wrong detailer for a 9 speed?

That is most definitely the wrong derailleur. You need a 9 speed one.

@@EbikeEscape What model did they give you for the replacement derailleur? Paselec is giving me a choice to send me the correct one or refund me up to $30 if I purchase it on my own to get it quicker.

bought one in May of 2022 buyer beware to major problems with this ebike first one the controller isn't mounted inside of the frame so it just raddles as you ride so after awhile it will fail you that means you just have a very heavy bike the second problem is the customer service will just play their games and give you a run around that's if you can get a hold of them what this means in my case is they won't honor the warranty so I spent 1,500 for one month of fun now I have a 70 pound bicycle !

Message: Hello. On the Paselec gs9 that you have can you please tell me if on the non chain side between the crank and the bottom bracket if there is a cover there to prevent dirt or if it is a sensor for the pas? Mine has fallen off and I’m worried I’m missing a sensor for the PAS.

I am pretty certain that is the Cadence Sensor. Without that sensor the bike will no know when you are pedaling.

@@EbikeEscape Upon checking again it looks like the cadence sensor is between the chain ring and the bottom bracket so the other side (no drive chain) might just be a dust cover. Unless there is a sensor on each side?

I think you are good then. Should only be one sensor. Without the bike in front of me I had to go off of memory….. which is not always the best, haha.

How's it going?? So I bought this bike last week and received it today.. No mechanical issues with the derailleur, chain, or supporting rear axel brackets to prevent wiring wrapping around the wheel like I've seen countless numbers of bad reviews on these issues.. My issue is this display????? Can you make a detailed video showing how to operate this display?? I'm not an idiot and am experienced with ebikes and displays.. Check my channel.. Anyway,,, my display functions do not work as described in the users' manual. Mode button does not allow me to cycle through the modes and the light on/off button does not turn off my bike and there is a password that pops up if I hold the up/down arrows and allows me to enter a number from 0 to 9 but then will not allow me to move to the next digit once the first is entered and I do not have a pass code anywhere in my manual lmao.. Not a happy camper I tell you... If it's not one thing, it's another.. Anyway,.. thanks...

None of these issue existed on our model. I think they might have changed out the display. And it sounds like yours is having some sort of control issue. I would ask for a replacement.

@@EbikeEscape Seems so because my display does not look like the one in your video.. It says it's the King-Meter N5236 display and I can not find any tutorial videos on how to use it.. I read the manual thoroughly and have been playing around with it for over 2 hours and it DOES NOT work as it is supposed too.. Tha pas levels work if i use the up and down arrows and the "walk mode" works when I hold the down arrow down.. Other than that, nothing else works.. I hold the "mode" button in for 10 seconds to over a minute and nothing.. I've tried combination of buttons and nothing.. Even if I tap the "light" button, the light does not turn off.. The light comes on automatically when the bike is powered on by holding the power button on.. Mode button and light buttons do not do anything what so ever.. Really angry I tell you.. I've tried contacting their support and NOTHING... Guess I'll have to buy a new aftermarket controller and display if I want this to work proper... What a waste of money and time... Thanks..

Almost all of the batteries and motors are made outside of the US for most companies. There are plenty of ebike manufacturers with actual locations in the US. Rad Power Bikes, Aventon, Propella, and Lectric (Just to name a few).

@@EbikeEscape Top priority is customer service and quality. I still can't figure out why local bike shop e bike brands cost so much more but not nearly the specs of most internet bike sites. Such a flooded market and hard to know what is a good value vs. overpriced hype.
