just listening to Giglis che gelida manina and scrolling on youtube, I see a brandnew video from John Paul... Now i don't know if I should pause Gigli or let Johns video wait. Hard choice, but anyways - keen for our next singing lesson :)

I respect and admire your generosity for sharing this precious knowledge, sir. Few people really know how to build a tenor voice with this boy cry (or witch's crackle), balancing punta and cavità, and fewer are those who, knowing what you know, share it freely. I had to learn all this for myself, reading Frisell and Herbert-Caesari, after much suffering with unprepared teachers, by trial and error, recording myself. Had I internet at the time I begun my study, I wouldn't have lost so much time. New generations have no idea how lucky they're with so much information at their disposal. The difficulty is filtering it all. Your channel deserve to be better known. This is gold!

Thank you for your guidance. I have been having singing lessons for four years now and I am keen to have sweet sounding notes, when singing the top male notes in songs like "The Prayer", without being a totally falsetto sound. I feel (my brain feels) that I can carry the sound but, I just can't get it at the moment. Seeing your videos, grounds me, in respect of the length of time that I need to train to be alive to achieve my goal. Thank you again sir.

I used to be able to push my chest up to G4 but since I started incorporating Falsetto (which I reach A5), everytime I reach F#4 my voice starts to crack and i dont feel like pushing anymore. Is this normal? Also, how do you know its time to think about smoothing the bridge? And what do you think of Michael Spyres voice?
@JussiPaul Жыл бұрын
Yes, that sounds good! Keep working on the falsetto. You don`t need to ´smooth the bridge`, it will happen naturally! Spyres is amazing!

@@JussiPaul I think I got my falsetto down to C#2, which is very close to my chest voice lower limit (C2) but not sure if I did it right. I felt like there is very little breath blowing a very thin string, where as when I intentionally switch to my chest, it is resonated. Is singing falsetto at very low note (the 2nd octave) supposed to sound very little and breathy like my description?
@JussiPaul Жыл бұрын
@@bachphantat That sounds correct. Anything below middle C will be just a whisper!

@@JussiPaul I usually start my session with the dark OO/U (start from G4, go up to B4 then play around with it and go down to C2). But I usually feel some kind of tension that makes it sound scratchy at the top notes. Then I tried it again after working on my chest voice and it feels much easier. Is that because, at the beginning of the session, my chest voice muscle hasn't given up yet? or am I doing it wrong? Also, when I do the dark OO (especially at the top notes), should I feel a little bit of 'Uh' in it?
@JussiPaul Жыл бұрын
@@bachphantat You might be better starting in chest. You have to be careful and make sure the falsetto is fully broken off before exercising it. Yes, there should be a feeling of Uh within the Oo on all notes in both registers.
