@@Squill4 that’s correct. Doesn’t hurt the car, I know guys running turbo builds on this motor with the stock manifold. You’re just gonna run a little lean on the AFR but that’s pretty much it

Yo I just saw this so sorry. The tune without the manifold is great. Just runs a tad bit lean that’s it. Just get a VIN from a used TTRS 8J and tell audi that vin is your TTRS and that you need a crank pulley for it. They’ll order it for you. Performance and reliability is wonderful with this tune. 150,000 miles and still going strong 💪

Ruben Chairez that would require custom tuning by United Motorsport. You’d send in your ECU to them and the list of hardware you have installed. They will make you a tune and send the ECU back fully tuned. Same thing with the transmission computer. IE doesn’t really do much custom work as far as I know

Gabriel Marin i am unaware of the beetle sharing the same motor. I would highly recommend you make sure it is the 07K in-line 5 cylinder motor before proceeding with the info I am about to give you. Ways to see if it is the in-line 5 would be to look at the engine cover and see if it says 2.5 on it. Look at the curved plastic piece at the front of the motor, just behind the fan, and if it has 5 tubes protruding from it, then it is the correct motor. Tune was from integrated engineering. Transmission control unit tune and engine control unit tune. Both tunes were altered via my request to support engine operation to 7,500 rpm. You will look for the TCU and ECU Tune on integratedengineering.com, for Volkswagen 2.5 07K. TCU Tune is around $300 ECU is another $500 I believe.

Thank you for the response dude you were very helpful. Yes it’s an 2.5 i5 cylinder. After watching your video it just inspired me to finally tune it my car. I have not seen or been able to find any videos about tuning especially on the 5 cylinder. I’m running a AFE intake and have a straight pipe after the resonator. I’m sure with the tune I’ll be able to gain more power from my intake. Hopefully one day I’ll post my car on KZfaq and hopefully inspire someone like your video did to me. Thanks again !

Gabriel Marin the aFe intake is the same one I use. I’d recommend you go with a bigger filter to draw in even more air than the stock aFe filter gives you, but that will require you to remove the vertical guard that encapsulates the coated piping to the filter in order to fit a larger filter on there. Straight pipe from res is a good amount of backpressure for that exhaust system. I have a very complex exhaust layout on mine to give it the sound it has so far. The exhaust has baffles in it to match it with the engine sound at 7,000 rpm. Sounds great and it isn’t too loud. I have the resonator removed. Just the cat and a muffler. Mid muffler removed also. And yeah man I’m always happy to inspire people to do work to this under appreciated motor. The in-line 5 is one of the least known motors to this day. It deserves more love than it’s gotten. SOULex 733 you do need the powerlink cable yes. It plugs into your OBD II port, usually located near your driver side door under the steering wheel The exhaust is factory but heavily modified

The software is independent to the hardware. Make sure you don’t have a hydraulic power steering pump in yours or else it won’t fit

Do Stage 1 yeah. You can try and swap your steering to electric in the future but that takes a lot of money and experience, or replace your AC compressor with another hydraulic pump with matching pulley diameter and alternate belt assembly, but you will have no AC

He said the b7 passat has a different tcu computer and that it wont let the tune flash over onto it

All software is compatible. Same Bosch ECU across all models with the 2.5L

Still stock manifold yes. Make sure you get the TTRS crankshaft pulley

Bennjieman Brown not a single issue at all. Runs great and with the hidden modification I made a few months back, it’s making much more power than stock. It’s just very hard to nail the exhaust note. Most people who go for it end up with a fart can sound instead of a pure one

Spurr just pretty intermediate right now as nothing has been done to the engine itself besides the air intake, nor has any boost been added, but at the moment it should be making around 220 crank but only 160-180 wheel, but makes 300 lb ft of torque at 3,000 RPM, which is pretty insane

Noble Vigilance why are you getting so salty? Look ie makes a stage 2 tune for Ecu not tcu In order to get the stage 2 you need the tcu tune which is only one tune from ie because you have an automatic. You also need an intake Manifold which you don’t have installed as shown in a second in the video. You can run stage 2 with the stock but the car will run like shit. I am saying your not stage 2 because of these reasons. Also there was someone else before on a different video that stated your car wasn’t stage 2 or something like that as well proving my point that there’s other perspectives that see what I see. You also stated before you would show the dyno results of how you make over 200hp but you still haven’t. I am sorry if you feel this is negativity, but this is questioning and slight criticism. If you also state that your getting a new car that’s waaaayyyy faster, why not offer the details and mods to the public so the small group of b7 2.5l owners who want to hook up their car , learn from your mistakes so they don’t do those mistakes and be more happy with their car?

Das_slow oh ok thoughtbyiu were someone I ran into. My bad man I’ll remove my last reply. Ok so basically I had a custom tune made for my transmission 09G by IE. They offered me that because they told me their intake manifold would fit my car and it didn’t, so to reimburse me, they refunded me but also offered to do a better tune with the transmission, equivalent to a stage 2, and so I said alright. They only asked for $300. It allows the transmission to shift a bit quicker, and the shifts are rougher than they used to be, and rev matching is easier yet is quicker than before. It’s just going through the gears quicker than the stage 1 basically, that’s all

Das_slow and man, i didn’t even do a dyno video of recent because I wasn’t able to upload at all, so every car show I went to and things I did to the car in that time I just didn’t record any video for at all. Last video for my car was my track day. Reason I keep things secret is for uniqueness honestly. I don’t want someone copying all the shit I’ve done to my Passat. My car is my build and I prefer to keep it that way honestly. Just the way I am. If I dyno it again I’ll make a video for sure though

The transmission tune is a dsg tune which I heard of but I never heard of them making it better or upgraded
