It's funny how a song can take you back to a single moment in time when you were listening to it. I've listened to this song plenty of times, but every time I hear it, I think of one time in particular. I was working on an ambulance. Where I worked, we didn't have stations, just posts. Street corners that we would sit at, waiting for calls. I recall driving to post in the middle of the night. The town we were in was small, so there were no street lights. Just our head lights, the lights of the occasional passing car, and the green glow of the radio. I remember driving to our lonely outpost, listening to this song. We reached our post and waited for the next call. It was the calm before the storm.

Still listening to this in 2019.... The whole album got me through highschool.

Revisiting this song after literally a decade feels so surreal to me. The tears of my youth that this song originally inspired come rushing back and I return to a simpler time when the only way I could make sense of the world was through art. I love Passion Pit more than I can express, and art like this must live on forever or the world will surely fall into a true disarray.

This is the song that made me take my own mental health seriously. I felt the way that this song describes. I was waiting for something to happen. Nobody I talked to understood. Is it always supposed to be like this? If I have one life then I should enjoy it. Nothing is going to happen for me, I had to do something myself. I'm now diagnosed with PDD/dysthymia and on antidepressants and actively going to therapy. Take care of yourself.

I was a brand new freshman in high school, I was in my TV production class and I had a big crush on this senior who seemed super cool and chill, all the things I wanted to be. He sat one desk over from and I remember feeling so awkward trying to talk to him. One day he was like listen to this and put his headphones in my ears and played this same song. I remember sitting there listening to the whole song and was absolutely blown away. Every now and then I listen to this song and think of that exact moment. One of my favorite songs ever.
