Angie Dickinson looks very glamourous here..I liked her in the 1967's movie, "Point Blank", also starring Lee Marvin.

zimbalist jr. as ludden mentions, his father a (russian born) world class violinist, senior would have been 76 in 1965. angie 33 here, and a knock out. and intelligent, she was studying to be a writer and had done well at it. what's interesting is dickenson would campaign for jfk in 1960 and zimbalist jr. would campaign for goldwater against lbj in 1964.e

The key to playing the “lightening round” is to stay calm. Angie was way too nervous. It also affects the partner nervous.

Okay, this would have to be done very expertly, but at least after the 3rd or 4th or 5th clue for "Vamp" if you acted like "well I've got nothing to lose so…" And maybe put up your finger with kind of a clever look in your eye and maybe stretching it out, saying "Draculaaaaa?" (Hoping the contestant would think vampire and then realize the word is vamp). Certainly no guarantees but it's possible that might have done the trick (especially after so many of those other clues didn't work).

@@aleynamutlu4206 Possibly… I know that I have noticed that Ludden often cautions against trying the rhyming trick as it seems to more often than not send people off in another direction of clues. I have seen it work maybe 1 time out of five. But that's not to say that it wouldn't work. And if one were to do a rhyming clue, that would be a good one!

angie did a smart thing on that last clue. i think she purposely gave a bad clue, hoping that they would give a good one, and then she could capitalize. there is almost no way that you are gonna get "dormitory" on the first clue. in this game, the second person tends to have the advantage, unless they happen to get an "opposite" word. if angie had said sleeping, or bedroom, etc. - then efrem would have said "college", and it would have been all over. so she let efrem give the first good clue, and then she pounced !! i have often wondered why this does not happen more often. since i have been viewing them lately, this is the first time i have highly suspected it.

I don't understand what was wrong with 'coveralls' for 'overalls' sure it has part of the same word in it but it has the same meaning. They do it all the time. 'Outside' for 'inside; 'interior for exterior....

I read all the other comments,,,,,, and some of you folks really need to buy a dictionary. 🙃🤔 A "Vamp" is NOT a vampire so "Dracula" would have been a bad clue. Vamp: 1:) The part of a boot or a shoe covering the instep, and in some styles, the toes. Vamp: 2:) To seduce or beguile (a man) by using feminine charms. ---------- ----------- --------------------------- ---------- ------------------------- --------------------- Both Efrem Z. and Angie D. were good players. The contestants needed some more time reading some books & magazines.
