You can fill in the background much, much faster if you use one of Sofft tools larger sponges 😀

Well sometimes I use them but I really love those brushes. I’m able to apply and blend in one action. Really love to work with a brush

Terrific vid. I just found an old vid of yours Jan 26th 2017 where you discuss CP on drafting film. At ~ the 8:45 mark you say something that I think is regarding which side to draw on but for the life of me I can’t catch precisely due to your accent to my foreigner’s ear haha what you said. Could you please tell me? Asking here because comments turned off. Thanks so much Martine!

CC lol, I say ‘ take the one with both matte sides’, cause you just can draw on ‘ matte ‘ sides.

I have a hard time sharpening my pastel pencils to a fine point. Would you mind sharing what type of sharpener you use? Thanks for your videos! They are very informative.

Didee M hi, I use a swordfish crank handled sharpener for my pastels, and the dahle 133 for colored pencils.

Also what is the brand of the CP fixative you mention in various vids and can this be used on drafting film? Your preferred paper (besides the film) for CP’s? You can tell I’m a newbie with lots to learn. I am new subscriber to your wonderful channel. 😊

CC hi, well I think fixative on drafting film is asking for disasters, sometimes it just peels off like old skin😀. So , use brands that don’t need fixative, like polychromos is my best suggestion. The fixative I use on other surfaces is that from Brush and Pencil. They have textured fixative (to renew the tooth of the paper) and final fixative (to seal your artwork in the end). They are meant for sanded paper (UART, Fisher400, Lux Archival). My preferred surfaces: Lux Archival , Fisher 400 sanded paper, UART 500, Stonehenge, Arches hot press, and drafting film😀

This project was a dutch course, but I have a few portraits in English too. Patreon is the best price... and there are several portraits on it too. Can you find my Patreon page? Make sure too join at the start of the month, otherwise you will be charged immediately, and then on 1 november again...
