I was the Stage manager that night, she was very kind to me and the staff. Afterwards she came upstairs after we cleared the room and sat on the stage chatting with the employees, not often artist do that. But she stands out as being very sincere and kind to the venue and its employees

I was there a couple of years ago. I was offered some free tickets by a DJ so I accepted but can no longer remember the act. Had a great seat overlooking all the musicians. Great quality on this video, but it leaves much to be desired compared with the Beatles version.

Lennon meets Hendrix meets Kurt Cobain meets Jack White meets Annie - Some folks just do nutty stuff on the guitar and somehow every note sounds perfect and planned. A really wonderful performance, glad she is getting recognition! Opening for Roxy Music here in DC next month, can't wait.

Never heard of her until Colbert just referenced her and specifically this song. I'm a huge Beatles fan and I went into this fully expecting to hate it because who could actually cover this song and do it well? Oh my f*cking god! Just absolutely stunning. The change in pacing the feedback the echo the completely new take on the song it's just mind blowing. The amount of music that's coming out of just one person in a guitar is just amazing. Not only did I love it I've played it at least three or four times and then checked out a number of other versions (this is the best in my opinion that I've seen) and also listened to a number of her albums. I was hoping to hear more of this kind of music but everything I heard I liked a lot. It's amazing how somebody could be releasing music for 13 or 14 years and I completely missed all of it. I listen to a lot of music and try to keep up on things that are new and interesting but she completely slipped by me. Very excited to really check out her stuff now and definitely want to see her life

I always thought "Dig A Pony" was the Crown Jewel in the Let It Be Movie. Ive never heard this bands music but she plays and sings with such herky jerky essentric passion that I totally enjoyed this. I even got a kick out of the scab story but if she lives in Brooklyn Im more than certain that she has seen her share of urban oddities. I guess she was so blown away by the beauty of the bay area that she forgot its still a large city with weird shit too.
@nathanwilliams30493 жыл бұрын
true that,but i live in SF and the great american music hall is like 1 block away from the tenderloin which i have done outreach in and ive seen people shooting up drugs in every part of the body possible and there is human shit everywhere, its a rough neighborhood.to see that part of SF is a bit jarring..its 4 square blocks of drugs and madness.

God damn all these people complaining about the opening dialogue are a bunch of buzz kills. While this isn't her best performance of the song I think that it shows a very good starting point with unique ideas to add to the song rather than just play a boring note-by-note cover of the original dig a pony. She's not a tribute band. If you don't like this cover check out some of her covers from later shows they are really good.

Outstanding reinvention of the song. Made it her own. Sparse, sexy, and daring. I can understand how people who don't like performance art, avant garde, or fringe festival performances might not like it. It takes a bit of a taste for the unusual. Who wants to hear a cover that's like the original? Boring...
@DeFiSiYT5 жыл бұрын
There is an even better version she does where her guitar sounds like Hendrix... That is f@cking insane! She's very sweet and innocent in this one... which I also like, but her confidence definitely grows... She's come a long way in terms of style since then...
