Hey Mike, I'm really glad I discovered your channel just a few days ago, your lessons are one of the best I've seen online and I feel like I'm finally gonna be able to progress my guitar skills after years of confusion, stagnation and honestly lack of motivation since I wasn't able to find anyone else who could explain songs in such an understandable and approachable way, especially for a newbie like me who only knows how to fingerpick one or two of the easier songs by Jackson C. Frank. It also helps a lot that you cover a bunch of my favourite artists such as Townes and Blaze and many others. If I could recommend you some other artists - not necessarily for video lessons but for personal enjoyment - I'd say to check out Kate Wolf (live album Give Yourself To Love), Barna Howard (his first self titled album) and Eric Andersen (compilation Violets Of Dawn) if you aren't already familiar with them... As for the song Pastures Of Plenty my favourite version is probably by Michael Hurley, who's also a pretty cool and unique guy in the world of folk music. Thank you for your videos and thank you for giving me motivation to pick up my guitar again. All the best to you and your family! PS: I would love to see you do a video or a tab on Close The Door Lightly When You Go by Eric Andersen one day if you get around to it... probably my most listened to song in the past month...

@@MikesMusicMethod Hey, sorry for the late reply, quite busy these weeks... I just joined the discord, trying to get a hang of how it works since I never used it that much ha Yee, Hurley is a special fellow, he even played in my country in the 90s, made a live record out of it, Townes did too and there's still a recording of the whole gig. Unfortunately this series of folk and country concerts ended before i was even born and no current folk artists come to "our little town" (hehe) of Ljubljana in Slovenia... so I guess that's one of the reasons why I want to learn some of these classics and have little private concerts for myself :D I'm glad you enjoyed Barna, Quite A Feeling is probably my favourite track from his second album, but I much more prefer his first one. Hope you will find the other artists enjoyable too :)

To be honest, I don't really care for the song. ha. I mean, Ronk is great, and the picking is great, but I'm kind of indifferent to the song.

There are tons of songs I can appreciate the picking and musicianship of, but it doesnt necessarily mean I'm putting the song on and rocking out, or crying in the corner to. This is one of these songs that I think is cool, but I'm not ever really putting it on and singing along and fist pumping to.
