This is impressive, I raise my hat for this gentleman. The only thing that I detest was that he only has 6.64 K subscribers, consequently, I will keep on writing comments here till I see a 100K with an attempt to find a solution with that algorithm! Keep up the good work!

Pat Martino the kind of guy that needs other great guitarists to give a an interpretative commentary about what he was on about like some sort of religioius text. I have never felt more defeated by concepts especially with his entire iCHING stuff. This breakdown was fairly reasonable to understand and I thank you for taking the time to create this. It isn't something I'd work on, but just listening and understanding the concepts is interesting.

Hi, Thanks! Yeah, I think that Pat Martino is maybe a bit misunderstood or maybe comes across as a bit too serious on video. I have read some of the comments under his REH videos and people do seem to find his videos a bit confusing.... But, the irony is that Pat has probably the best way of developing jazz improvisation for "Guitar" that there is. His concept of minor-isation is really easy to understand and pretty easy to apply. ...Having said that perhaps it does all needs to be shown in a different way. I do aim to do this in an upcoming video and attempt to get his minor-isation concepts across.👍

Hi, Thanks!.....I'm not sure but I think Pat wrote the book around 1972. It was something that he never published. A copy was sent to me by one of his students. I don't think that it will ever be published though. Apparently , Pat was very giving and would give his students lots of material that he had composed and this was one of the pieces. 👍

Thanks Doug! I use a rode Nt1a Mic and just add some reverb afterwards with Logic Chroma-verb "Brass hall" about 19%. 👍

Hi Dovith, it's an unpublished book that Pat wrote maybe around 1972 that he never published. It was sent to me by one of his students who Pat gave a copy to. It won't ever be published I don't think, but you never know. Apparently, Pat created a lot of material and freely gave to his students and this was one of the pieces.👍

@@Dovith I would like to, but, It's not really mine to share and it's a full book in paper form. But, I will add a few more exercises to my website. Also, I have another Intervallic set of exercises pat Martino wrote which I aim to video soon and I will put all of that on the website to download. 👍

Very nice, but what scale or chord are these are supposed to be played over?

Hi Jake, these are exercises/fingerings through all keys for intervallic guitar that Pat wrote for a book he didn't publish. These are for nearly every scale you can imagine. They can then be applied to improv to create a unique sound.... I do show this application in the video in the last example [taken from Pat's own playing in his REH book] with F#m7b5 to B7alt to Em.....So these are just like taking any scale e,g "Whole tone" and then employ this re designed sound and apply it, so, "Whole tone scale" over Augmented chord etc... It's a very creative and imaginative approach to improvisation. It might not be for everybody, and that might be why the book was never published, but, for anyone seeking originality and a sharp move away from jazz cliches it's incredibly useful.👍
