Sir my baby is 3month old and she is full term baby .....my padeatric dr ask me to do her echo ....so in her echo we found pda 2.5mm ......my question is device closure is required or not ...or her pda close as she grows

If no symptoms, you can monitor and repeat the scan after a few months

You can refer the recent CPS guideline statement, from Canada. The references in it will give you the actual articles. In addition, the EPAR and PDA tolerate, baby Oscar studies

At what size operation or device closures is needed doctor?

It depends on multiple factors, not just the size. Device closure in small babies is still not available in most centres

Majority of babies under 28 weeks and almost all under 26 weeks would get the targeted screening echo by day 2-5, timing depending on signs. At or beyond 28 weeks, we scan only if concerns
