as a person who does some research I disagree with apcifiers as some sources claim it can: *slow down oral devolpment *cause fussiness if removed, mulling out the "calming" effect *cause "addiction" so that's why I don't like pacifiers, I think ehy can be usefull. for sleep and spin but beyond that and maybe in between feedings it's not good, like why give a apcifier to your child when they're already calm?

Hello Sir, thank you for your informative videos....I wish these were available before my first kid was born...would have been more cautious for their better health... Have two queries- 1) lower eyelids of my 8 months old get folded inwards and he starts to rub to roll it out back but it doesn't on its own...please guide if it is something to worry and if there is a need to consult an ophthalmologist 2) My 5 years old starts to cough badly even after slight overeating and stops coughing only after throwing up....is there an issue with the gut? One doctor suggested getting gastrograffin test done which the testing team denied to saying this test has strong radiation n not advisable for kids unless highly necessary..kid was around 3years then Please advise sir

Hello DR. My baby was born at 37 weeks (on June 9th), and she is currently 35 days old. On day 4, we noticed jaundice for the first time at 17.2. The gynecologist suggested phototherapy in their hospital, but I believe it was ineffective because of a problem with the device. On day 6, the jaundice value increased to 22, so we took the baby to a children's specialist hospital, where the doctor suggested double phototherapy using two devices. On day 7, the values were at 14.4, and on day 8, its was 11.5 so the doctor suggested that the baby be discharged as other diagnoses, such as "Coombs test." was normal. After three days (Day 10), we saw that the eye was yellowish. The value was 19.6, and we were advised to undergo phototherapy for the next 48 hours. On Day 12, the jaundice level was 8.3. On Day 16, we noticed the next re-bound, with values standing at 14.8 and 15.2 after two days (phototherapy was not administered). on day 18 we again started the phototherapy for 48 hours, as of day 20, the jaundice was 9.4. and we had also performed thyroid, TMC, and ultrasound tests, all of which were normal. On the 30th day, the jaundice re-bonded at 15.4 , and the doctor advised stopping the Brest feeding to rule out if that is the source of jaundice. We tested the jaundice on the 34th day, and for the first time without phototherapy, the jaundice is under control at 11.7. Therefore, I have stopped the Brest feeding for a week, and I do not see any high symptoms of jaundice again for next one week (Till today). Would like to know when I can begin Brest feeding and how often we should jaundice test to ensure there is no rebound. I am eager to continue the Brest feeding, so please advise me on the best course of action.

Hello doctor - my baby is born at 37 weeks 3 days, same day she aspirated milk fed by nurse and was admitted to NICU. For almost a month she was on oxygen support CPAP followed by HFNC. Now she is completely off respiratory support, with no pulmonary pathology. Until now she is fed by OG tube. Now when oral feed is tried she desaturates. Her suck reflex is good but she is unable to swallow. She swallows little amount only and gets tired if fed using slow flow teat. Therapist suggested some exercise and she is still in hospital. Can we take her home with tube and try oral feeds at home? Please suggest.

Hi. My baby is 40 days old. On his 3rd day his bilirubin was 14.2 then he was given phototherapy for 3 days and it reduced to 8. Again on 20th day it was 14.2 then on his 30th day (one month) it was 17.2 so we gave phototherapy and his values reduced and increased to 13.2 now. His LFT, direct and indirect bilirubin, Thyroid, T3, T4, G6PD all the tests are normal. He was born at 38 weeks and 2.5 kg, bow he is 4.2kgs on 40th day. What should be done? How long will it take for jaundice to completely go away?
