Very cool stove, Can you explain how the design works? What enables it to burn for so long on so little fuel/wood. How the airflow and the feed system work together.
@flameinnovation
@flameinnovation 3 жыл бұрын
Air flow and gravity feed to a firebox is our patent, so the log is burned on its end in a vertical position. You end up only burning part of one log at a time instead of 2 or 3 whole logs at a time with massive heat output all at once. This is a more steady burn rate over a longer time. Hope this helps.

Yes. We have a stainless water tank for it that comes on and off very easily. 2.3 gallons. The tank is mounted on the right side and can be added to your existing mini me stove. 200 for the tank, mounting hardware, and side shield. I will put a picture on the shopify site and make a video

Burn time per presto log roughly? How much heat loss up the chimney being they are so close together?
@flameinnovation
@flameinnovation Жыл бұрын
2.5 to 4 hours per Presto log burn time. (10625 to 17000 btu) Really not a lot but has to be enough to maintain the draft. EGT's at startup during prototyping were up to 1300 for a few minutes then 750 for about the next 15 minutes (this is all from memory from a couple years ago btw) then it would settle to 350 to 500 degrees roughly.

Does the heat rising around your feeder tube cause it to get hot and smolder the log or wood inside of it?
@flameinnovation
@flameinnovation Жыл бұрын
A little bit towards the bottom but it's double layered and we bring air down it. So you have exposed fuel at the bottom that burns below the tube and then up inside the bottom of the tube a little bit

@@flameinnovation why don’t you make another web page thoroughly explaining how and where to obtain commercial fuel for your stoves? Then link to it from your site.
@flameinnovation
@flameinnovation Жыл бұрын
@@jacksprat7087 I have done that and then they change suppliers and locations where they ship to and then on the websites linking to the suppliers, they change constantly as well where they make logs at this plant then they shut it down because they are behind on pellets and then another log line opens up 4 states away, etc. Should be log suppliers / find fuel section on there right now. Appreciate your comments and wish I could keep up with it more and them to communicate more as they change as well.

@dustyhenderson3126

You load the logs down the feed tube and they burn on the bottom of the bottom log. As it burns it self feeds and the air being blown into the pot keeps the fire going is probably the simplest way to explain. We also have a gravity fed pellet adapter now that goes in the tube like a log and lets you burn pellets without electricity. The burn times are from 6 to 10 hours with 2 or 3 logs and up to 20 hours with pellets and the extra 30 lb. pellet hopper added as an accessory.

Yes, good design but you have not once mentioned how well the vertical log feeder won't act as a chimney. What's sealing the top off? I do appreciate that it burns only the bottom exposed part of the log for a slow and steady burn. I was otherwise thinking that you'd have to have a doohicky firing a hockey puck-sized disk into the box every hour, but this is better, natural. I'm going to build a DIY Stealth Truck and I'm loath to use propane or electricity when boondocking. That's simply too expensive on the one hand and too draining on the other. My future truck won't need but the smallest such stove.

Thanks for looking at the stove. Does not burn like a wood stove. All of the combustion occurs in a tiny firepot so it is very efficient. Direct vent? Are you talking about bringing in fresh air? It has a fresh air port on the back side. If you are talking direct vent for exhaust you will have to explain what you mean. Thanks
