It's the lesser known determination. We don't know what the Patch Notes will bring, but this is still going to be a very good option in PoE 3.19 Lake of Kalandra. This video was originally produced before the Balance Manifesto but it does not change anything important.

Little update : the 15% Mana reservation mastery is gone, so you might not be able to fit an additional aura while leveling, still Purity is so good

Yep he knows that… he did about an hour on the Manifesto yesterday. He stated he was still going to release this video since this focuses on league start and the leveling portion of your build.

The suffix pressure is already very high -> so I am very happy that it is possible to take out some of the elemental resistances on gloves and boots for some spell suppression...

This advice is right on time! Im jumping through so many hoops to get decent resistances through the acts on a test build. Throwing of purity is a great idea

I’m surprised you mentioned the reservation masteries. However I agree Purity of Elements is great for leveling and maps. Saved me so many times.

I produce my content ahead of time, in this case there wasn't enough time to stream my thoughts on the manifesto, release a TL:DR video on the most important points, and re-edit this video to account for the changes (which aren't super impactful in regards to this video since the answer is now plan slightly different auras).

As a ranger player, ailments immune + 3k armour is way better than 10k armour. And this also counters omni amulet nerf, might be a great end game aura next league.

As a new player I finished act 5 first time and was getting a little too comfortable. Then I got a reality check with -30% res penalty. Thanks GGG.

Been practicing Boneshatter league start and the socket pressure was so big that I ended up in act 6 with (mostly) the right sockets but trash gear. Thanks for reminding that Purity of Elements exists, will be swapping Determination for it if i'm in the same scenario on league launch!

I think its hard to give up on the qol of being immune to ailments, and ease of gearing. It's gonna be really hard to fit other auras and purity of elements going forward without chasing reservation reduction on the tree. Got any tips coming up how to make up for the loss of the mastery without breaking an arm and a leg?

I can only think of enlighten, a level 4 would be optimal, but it's expensive, will be even more after they remove the mana reservation node/mastery

Agree, Purity of Elements has been my favorite aura for 3 leagues now due to the qol it gives.

the tip is simple, give up on trying to, either go with purity, or something else. for leveling we just dont have the space to make use of more than 3 auras, unless you fill yourself with those 10% reserv ones.

Purity is an aura i normally slap into any league starter now. You can also use passive points for res on tree, but it seems far better to use my mana for defence and my tree can instead focus more on damage.

I always use this :3 Unless I can get full resists on my gear. I am slow at Acts and tend to go into maps with like 40% more resists than needed and if I have high armour I tend to nto care as much at that point about ailments, most wont kill me anyway. But if its a squishier character its amazing

I use it on my RF and arc. Take my mana. I will hot key a mana flask. Freeing up gear for other rolls or crafting is a huge difference since I’m a casual player.

I’m a newish player and very casual, I’ve played cyclone to yellow maps in legion, and i started again a few weeks ago and im in yellow maps as rf inquisitor, next league i want to try something different than those builds. I want to try something a little simple to put together and maybe get further this league coming, I only play a league starter build, can i do this with flicker strike next league?

RF inquis (using POHXs guide) can easily get you to endgame, even with this leagues nerfs, flicker strike is a far cry from an easy route to take. you can get to yellow maps again, but making a flicker strike character tanky is difficult

@@FineGuy96 depends on what you wanna try, something totally different, then bow skills will be good, scourge arrow, tornado shot, pathfinder/champion/raider builds or melee like sunder or reap, (sunder being the better option) OR casters, spellslingers/DD VDD builds, lots to choose from, at the moment we dont know because patch notes arent out.

I use it until the very endgame where I can get ele avoid capped, not having to worry about ailments is massive qol

Yeah raider is the one exception that always comes to mind here because total immunity is fairly easy with loathing boots.

On SSF I use it all the time.... immunity to all aliments for me is more important that resistance bonus

Only reason i have never really used this aura is because determination and grace plus one of the banners i believe ? Is mandatory these days so sadly rarely room for much Else

None of those auras are mandatory. Though most setups will be using Determination.

@@Tenkiei it might just be me but every time i try to drop any of Them i risk hitting the 3 shot territory again because i feel like you need that insane amount of Armor and evasion to survive most nemesis mods which is now on pretty much every monster and for me thats even with full spell supress and atleast 80% max res

@@gmoddude12 I don't think I've used grace long term on any build since 3.15 and I've had 0 issues. I also usually didn't add defiance banner until I had a mageblood.

@@Tenkiei none of them are mandatory, in the same way, you could also try to play using just the attack command and no gems. you can do that, but you will find out how much less good it is... so much for build diversity.

I personally hate this aura cuz its too OP compared to other auras at league start content, making it almost impossible to run some acts without it if you are evasion based character

Purity of elements is better than any offensive aura if you care about finishing the campaign faster. Killing a boss 1 min slower is 1000 times better than getting chilled, frozen, ignited, etc... dying and then having to rerun areas that are both long and have no mobs in them (Since you killed them the first time around) to refresh your quicksilver charges.

that's only true depending on the player. crit templar start gets good resistances with tree pathing and alira, so dont need resists from purity that much

😪 Is there anyway to remove the special Ed red outline? Its ridiculously unnecessary. At least put a lil mark floating above the head, a small circle under the enemy like Star Craft, a quick short highlight shimmer anything or the option to turn it off. It covers up the graphics and breaks immersion. Like I’m some robot scanning like terminator. Its even more pointless if your a melee build.
