If the build was simple and tanky back then, it will still have fans now. Especially when the league mechanic is out to kill you like the current one.

Fourth Vow only applies to chaos damage making it much less helpful than a rare, Cracienn's or Doppel. It would be a very good option on Elementalist but it's not the best on Jugg (especially if you have Divine Flesh). The armor is too low and it doesn't offer quite enough bonuses to protect you vs phys or ele dmg (life, reduced/less dmg taken, etc). Edit: Elementalist, not Inquis sorry!

Depends. Full armor for chaos damage is great when paired with Divine Flesh. But in order to get full mileage out of 'Unbreakable', you are just going to want a 3K+ AR body Armour. Not to mention the potential for extra damage out of a rare influenced chestpiece. Or the massive armour boosts you can get out of determination eldritch implicits. Jugg is already very easy to make unkillable. Much harder to give him DPS without stacking endurance charges and damage per endurance charge.

Good to know! Luckily that's why it's nice to have flexibility between chest and helmet so if you get +2 duration you can put Fire Trap in your chest (where it will work).

@@Tenkiei Yeah - correct - last season i went all in on only RF, had a +1 All nd +2 AOE and like a LVL 34 RF. My RF only wihtout double-curse was like 7 Mil. Crazy clearing maps - rly nice

The single target is definitely lacking at first for Jugg. With the same amount of investment that will take most builds to over 20 mil DPS. An RF Jugg will be at about 3 or 4 mil. lol Still love how tanky it is though.

Due to tankyness, you don't need as much damage. But the difference also isn't that extreme I have ~5m dps atm and I'm sure I wouldn't have 25m-30m on other builds at this investment, I'd probably have more like 7-10m. Unless you're counting some pob warrior trash that says 20m but actually does 2m and dies constantly.

@@SuperCatacata It isn't quite that bad, but keep in mind that RF damage is always-on compared to something like a Tornado Shot build. Sure, the # in POB says 200M or some ungodly number, but that's only while you hold down your ability. RF is always on, and always doing damage.

It is still a bad stat, because you can instead get fire damage or DoT multi on rings, and fire or minion damage on shield. Spell damage affects ~60% of your dps as opposed to those stats that apply to all your dps.

@@Tenkiei Fair enough, I just dont usually run minion damage notable so I use fire damage with spell damage and +1 all fire spell on shield. Eventually I'll switch to Life + Fire Damage + +1 Fire Spell. Also, with crusader influence you can get spell damage as a prefix on ring at the same time as fire damage and dot multi as suffixes. Though the veiled generic damage mod is better, or the minion damage redeemer mod if you're running minion notable. I usually get the spell damage or generic damage prefixes over the fire damage suffix since I use suffix on rings to fix the builds Dex problem and there really isnt that many good prefixes for rings on RF.

Most of my money has come from crafting for the build, running logbooks and a bit of grinding out expedition/bestiary/essence.

you don't really need just nitpick some items with fire res+ regen and spec into regen+max res on the tree you'r good to go, with some luck drops you can start rf in act 2 even more with new regen mastery.

You can run anything except no regen, reduced regen and reduced maxres are np once you are deep enough into the build.

It's less about class and more about specific builds. I suggest one with a detailed guide such as the league starters found at maxroll.gg/poe/ or Pohx's RF guide.

Dawnbreaker is another excellent way to get defenses. It's not going to help (much) with elemental damage but if you feel like phys is wrecking you absolutely use it.

Late to the party here, but you take minion damage nodes because with the passive tree node "Spiritual Aid" it lets all minion damage rolls affect you.

I'm not sure, I haven't done a detailed comparison with his build instead I usually compare my choices to aggregate data on poeninja --- in this case the main difference between a lot of the builds I saw early league was me using the minion wand (not relevant, just buy the cheapest between minion wand/sceptre), taking the armor and energy shield mastery (more people are picking it up now), and the Charisma Anointment (to fit Purity of Elements).

Late response ik but I main Jugg RF from pohx's guide and I get about 7 mil ish dps. Great survivablity. I have beat all pinnacle bosses with very little investment. I would imagine that Tenkiei's guide has more survivablity but less dps so in depends on your preferance

After doing some reading on this issue... it seems that there was a post from GGG back in 2020 about their new physically-based rendered effects where players were asking for a way to turn down the intensity of the bloom effects. These feature requests from the players were being rebutted by GGG saying that they have the effects displaying the way that the artists had intended. After doing further reading on this issue, I learned that methods of dampening blooming effects used to be available in the Path of Exile Graphics menu -- and the features that allowed you to control this have since been removed. After looking into the microtransactions tab under Skill Effects... I found hundreds of instances of differently rendered skills -- including a much easier on the eyes version of 'Righteous Fire' for about $15. It seems that since Tencent took majority shares in GGG -- the developers of Path of Exile are now willing to risk their player's retinas in pursuit of more money. This is extremely unethical -- it's time for me to uninstall Path of Exile and go back to Grim Dawn instead.

Agreed, hardest part as a noob is figuring out the gearing and what half the youtubers say. WTF does X nean, example like fractured, and how do you reroll fractured....

@@mattcoppel141 if you really want to speed up the process of discovery, when you hear something like ‘fractured’ that is usually part of a ‘league mechanic’ aka, each new content release typically incorporates a new system that augments the game. So you could benefit from watching a breakdown of the respective league content-many content creators cover these things when the patch releases or shortly after when it has been worked out.

Choose about 3-5 blue Altars in creepy Maps and you’re not a jugg anymore 😅

Templar is one of the two viable rf endgame builds. Templar life+melding and aegis. Sion for es stacking and scaleing trough that. Jugg is a hc ascendancy that doesnt even aim at bosses. What if i told you that on my 30k es sion I press buttons more often than your awerage brand build for example. Also... vaal rf for bossing? No? You say too easy but you also say low dmg. Dmg is there... it just isin't easy to scale at start of the league. Also rf was changed and scales a bit differently now. Reason why higher end builds use high es Sions. So nor is it low dmg, nor is it the same for 4 leagues. Maybe you played the exact same setups... but it defenately isint the same. Actualy its slightly nerfed this league for hp scaling.

i ran 3 rfs last three leagues..first was pohx rf..last league i went endurance stacker one and this league iam going for +6 gear .there are so many ways to build and play rf

@DeepNT my point isnt that rf hasnt got variants. Its that its a walking sim, which promotes lazy play :) so after playing a lazy league the next time a player things to try DD or a bow build itll feel like too much effort.

Chaos really isn't an issue so I'd prefer Brass Dome for Crit immunity, or alternatively Craceann's or Doppel.

never pay attention to the in game box, it's never been right like ever, use something like pob.

I'd use Tattoos as a problem solver. IE: if you need explody you can do that instead of Oriaths, if you need chaos res, Tattoo it, if you need more life, Tattoo it. Alternatively you can use a Brass Dome setup and optimize around 90% Fire res (but this is a lot more work).

the mastery applies 10% of armour to chaos resist, it can be found on any armoury and ES mastery, divine flesh is there for the +5% max chaos res and 50% of elemental damage taken as chaos and jugg applies 8% of his armour to ele damage so assuming DF counts that even more is converted and that is not including anything such as phys taken as fire dmg crafts etc.

It was never the case --- or at least not for years. People just rarely invested into doing single target.

Single target is ok, compared to other builds it is weaker yes but the quality of life you get and the tankiness make up for it imo.

It works, the effectiveness diminishes if you have naturally high life regen, you may not even see it. But I think you could fit more useful stat instead

That's fair, I don't buy many skill MTX for the same reason. However I got the RF one because I figure I can always use it as a supporting skill on other builds later. (at least hopefully this remains true!) That said, if you don't have much money, never feel pressured to buy mtx.

@@FubzyMC well rf build will die even less times on maps than armor stacker, because of better defences against dots. And it is not a build for ubering anyways, so i dont see the point of checking its survivability on bosses. On maps it's more close to invulnerable than stacker.

@rodriguez4809 my armour stacker is invulnerable to dots, well 99% of them.

fire trap should be used only for bosses and tough rares really, not for clear. With CoC you remove a lot of single target damage.

If you have to ask if something is viable in SSF you shouldn't be playing SSF. Practice a bit in SC trade then swap to SSF later.
