Important note on binding orbs. DO NOT USE IF YOU WANT TO KEEP SOCKETS/LINKS. Binding orb change the sockets and links to 4. If you have a 6 linked item for example it will turn that into a 4 link.

Technically I knew some of these as soon as they introduced them but I think a title like this conveys the content of the video the best. I'd definitely want to know all of this if I was on my second league of playing or I was a returning player after many years. There are some third party recommendations, could be more but I didn't want to make this too long. Let me know how many of these you didn't know! :D Thanks for watching!

A very good tip when crafting by "alt or chaos spam" is place the item on a tab, currency tab is even better, and then leave written in the search the required mod. So, lets say you want alt-spam a Thicket Bow to adquire "bow attacks fire 2 additional arrows". You should just write on search "additional arrows", for example, and then start to spam alts. The bow will became highlighted when you roll the mod. Of course you still should control yourself to not click pass the mod, but you save a lot of time reading the mods every time, specially when chaos/essence or other multi mods spams.

There's also another good tip : Bind all your auras in your 2nd hotkey slots so when you die you press ctrl 1 2 3 4 5... et boom auras are up in 2 seconds instead of rebinding them 1 by 1 in your first hotkey slots.

Thing I learned somewhat recently. You can Ctrl + C on items you mouse over in game. It will copy the items description and you can paste these in path of building to check if thats an upgrade for example. Or in craft of exile, to try some crafting options as well. Maybe this will be usefull to someone ^^

when using the in-game search function you can use the | key (shift+backslash, above the enter key) as an "or" function and a comma to act as an "and" function. life|energy will show things with life or energy life, energy will show things with life and energy

The most important third party tool is filterblade, to have a good item filter.

Extra info on the 4:08 3 -to-one map recipe: The "1-tier higher" map received is based on which map is based on the links. If there are two "1-tier higher" map possible, you can change permutations of the 3 "lower tier" map you sell to switch between the two example: t12 pit is linked to t11 beach, t13 cemetery and t13 cells. You have 4 of t12 pit. pit#1-2-3 gives cemetary. pit #1-2-4 gives cemetary. pit #2-3-4 gives cells.

Hey Empy, I haven't played POE for a few years now but just wanted to thank you for this video man - such a useful collection of tips and if I ever decided to come back this would be the first refresher course I would take for sure! As much as I played this game a few years back I still feel so out of the loop with the amount of stuff constantly added - a video like this can really help. Was also a bit of nostalgia for me :)

Also a helpful addition to the search tip, you don't have to click the search bar, ctrl + f will always focus onto the search bar in any menu and you can start typing

About Heist trinket, there is two stats that work outside the Heists - one is chance to duplicate rogue markers dropped by monsters, and second is chance to duplicate markers from Smuggler's Cache.

18:25 A small note about curse. An enemy can only be MARKed once, regardless solo or party play, and can't be increased by curse limit. For example , If your curse limit is three, then you can hex enemy twice and mark once.

You can also use affinity for other stashes like expedition and heist by clicking the affinity button on those stashes. When you're in your regular stash, those items will go to the other stashes. Saves running around and putting those items into those separate stashes.

A note on horizon orbing maps, a good way to tell what's a "natural" map of its tier is to remove all of your watch stones by ctrl clicking them off your Atlas and looking at them that way

Also for those who didn't know. If you type /afk you can type anything after /afk to add a custom message. Like /afk Ill be back in 15 minutes. So when someone whispers you when you are afk they will see that you will be back in 15 minutes

24:25 mortal and other fragments (shaper elder) give 10% quant :D

25:30 there is also a mod for x% chance of rogue stashes to duplicate. its a fairly high % actually and is really good money. i always use one that has both, worth it by a lot

You can also use a regular expression (Regex) in the shops search to quickly find/highlight items with sockets you need.

I would say that the cast on death portal can be a death trap for newcomers (And sometimes even experienced players). It's a quick way to get back on track but it can also put you back in a really bad situation. Sometimes you die because of a lost bullet, other times you may get overwhelmed and surrounded, and reappearing in the middle of a swarm can kill you multiple times in a row making you lose a good chunk of experience and time. Everything else is amazing. I'm gonna have to burn that divine vessel recipe in my head, have always wondered why you get so few of them when they are so important!

About the search feature - it has some limitations that make very little sense:) When you search for complex things, and sometimes even using regular expressions, you may run out of search string length. Now the fun part, in most windows, including stash tab, npc trade / gamble windows etc the limit is 50. However for some weird reason, in your passive tree its 100, and I still have no idea why its not 100 in other places then:)

I have 1700 hours in poe but there were so many tricks i didnt know! Thanks a lot for the QoL! I feel like many of those things are "Well they are in the game, but you dont know about that unless you explicitely look for them" like the crafting recipes or the "you gain an extra slot in map device if you do X" Stuff like that would help me motivate me for the game more, so having something like a greyed out slot thats teasing you like "i could be unlocked by doing X" This could make me strife towards something more andgive me a long term goal, and not quit like 1 meter before the finish line, because i didnt know there was one. I mean yes, i could read up on those, but i want to be able to enjoy path of exile and not let it feel like work.

Another big tip for heist runners is you can exit and reenter the heist at any time before the alarm goes off to 'cleanse' any contraband you've picked up before the end case is cracked. This way you won't lose any exalts or currency you find on your journey to the end while trying to exit. You can also cursor over any of the doors in heist that rogues need to open and press V to open instead of clicking the little circle.

brand new to POE here, deep diving the learning curve, saw this video. Great content, thanks! When you play deep-mechanic-based games, tips/tricks like these are a major part of evening out the play-experience, and imperitive to have! LOL though- you know the game is deep when you downloading and spend 6 hours watching various videos in reference to the game, 'to get the smoothest start plssible'. The best games are all like this, which is why I am still researching/watching/learning, and taking mental notes of what to go rewatch and when. Simply put the game is worth the investment of time at this point and I would even argue part of the fun for a game like this, as an intellectual-deep thinker, is the learning various aspects of it. Many folks just want instant everything, and then end up passing on learning curves, and then do not truly enjoy the experience of the game in full. Assuredly not a game for everyone, but so far it seems as an ARPG/Diablo/looter shooter/tactical play style gamer, these videos are already hitting the spot! (Ironically more shallow games do not hit the same notes when you do/get something right, and are not as fun as a game that requires a non stop deep dive/continual learning curve). I suppose it is like a symphony: some folks just prefer the bass of drums (amd enjoy that deep note), and some folks just enjoy an alto sax (and mayyybe but not a given: get into jazz). For those folks, a game like Diablo or CoD is right at home for them... Then there are those of us who like a full on symphony, and that is where deep mechanics games come into play, like POE for example. (And to those of us like that out here, videos like this are just part of the symphonic experience- like reading the music). Sure, you could enjoy a symphony without, but with? That is where it all comes together when gameplay is flowing forward, and you truly aporeciate the IP (heavy focus on the I part) of a game like POE. Sadly, it is now 2022 before I gave this game a chance and am as semi embaressed as a symphonic based hobbyist who just discovered Bach! None the less this video is coontributing, and will make my firat few hours in game a Moonlight Sonata, vs. say, a trap house song. Both have their places, but assuredly they do not hit the same notes. So with that said, I hope the depth of my thank you is a bit further expressed as a new POE player. I hooe there are many other videos like this on your channel, as I am atepping away from (yet again) Warframe for a break, had a Diablo itch but was bored with what that game is. Hopefully I will truly enjoy the POE experience!

your section on ctrl+clicking to reset zones reminded me how fun and OP it was to farm mud flats(act6) during metamorph. i wish they made it core. :( also, your section on increased vs more, its not actually a more multiplier but a debuff on enemies that is almost always better than just an increase in damage so it functions more similarly to a more multiplier. champion ascendancy has it, yoke of suffering has it, a bunch of sources actually have this wording.
