Ive also made a cosmos oracle that is tied to the cosmic caravan, but more specifically, Pulura thr Shimmering Maiden. She's an Ancient Scale Azarketi that has the champion, acrobat and unexpected sharpshooter archetypes.

Just real fast wanted to share because I thought it was clever. In the Lost Omens Travel Guide (which came out August 2022), there is a brief snippet near the beginning about marking time. It explains that there is actually a leap day (or Fey Day) every 4 years, but "Once, for some unknown reason, half the world was convinced a leap day should happen every four years while the other half insisted on eight. Getting everything straightened out took three days and ended in six deaths, two marriages, and at least one blood feud. But that’s a story for another day." So I'm very curious about the 8 year vs 4 year thing. My guess is that at some point in the past the authors decided on 8 years, and then they wanted to retcon it to 4 to be more in line with our own calendar, but they wanted an in-universe reason to do this, which I absolutely love. It makes me want to write a homebrew adventure that centers around this conflict between the factions who believed it should be 8 and the ones who believed it should be 4, and how it was settled. I'm very curious about this blood feud. But anyway, this is the kind of World Building approach that I love so dearly about Paizo. Keep up the great work!

I have finally finished this playlist and so have returned with the forth and final land infused with the energies of the planes of vitality and the void. One would think that the land would be in extremes of variation or not a seed at all due to the energies inherent opposition and they would be half right. There is a lot of elevation from deep cavernous cave systems to sometimes floating bits of land, but the energies of vitality and void coexist in the form of glowing ever shifting currents. Sometimes these currents are dense and flow like rivers of water, other times they are more light taking the form of shining winds and breezes, and other times they act more like electricity flowing through vines and veins of ore alike, but it is alway as some kind of current or charge flowing from the fonts of vitality to the pools of void. It is from these pools of void that arise the Viturnae, a race of glass humanoids. Though they may be a crystalline race their features are very smooth and human like more akin to expertly blown glass and their external shells which is mostly made up of crystallized void is able to deform and stretch just like flesh. Within each Viturnae is a life that it is intubating, usually a plant or a fungus of some kind, which is always visible from inside the individual. The Viturnae are a fragile people who upon death death will explode into fonts of vitality and releasing the life they were intubating in the process. Pools of void and fonts of vitality are not endless nor are they consistent in their amount. A pool of void can last for an incredibly long time or be used up after producing just a few Viturnae and likewise for the fonts of vitality nor do either adhere to preferences of elevation. You are just as likely to find fonts of vitality in the network of caverns as you are to find pools of void in the highest of peaks and vitality will always flow from the fonts into pools of void. There is more to the land than the glow of the ever shifting currents and sources they flow between however. The land has an abundance of European style fortresses and castles and old, elevated observatorys where some of the oldest and most persistent pools of void can be found. Huge tendrils of vines serve the role of trees and thick silky mosses covers nearly any surface that the fungi do not already claim. In truth the most prevalent forms of life here are moss and fungi where a lot of variation can be observed. There is also more than one sentient race that call this land home. There is the Virtuo, incaporeal spirit like beings of thought and knowledge whom are attracted to the interactive use of void and vitality and can even take control of them. They are often drawn to the Viturnae due to their insides being mostly that of vitality and their outer shell being mostly that of void, and can be found within the old machines found inside the castles, fortresses, and observatorys as well transversing the ever shifting currents of void and vitality. This has lead to a very deep relationship with the Viturnae to the point that if one encounters a Viturnae there is almost certainly going to be a Virtuo around. Though the Virtuo may seem like humanoid spirits they are in fact more akin to digital lifeforms whom has vitality and void as the basis of their binary. There is also the Mossini a race of humanoid moss people with crystallizations of their own interwoven with the material of their stems to form a kind of skeleton. There is also the Funalor who are an incredibly human like race of humanoid mushroom people and in contrast to the Mossini have their crystallization interweve occur externally rather than internally and often in the form of decorations, assesories, and framing aids to their overly mycelium forms. Both the Mossini and Funalor were initally incubated within the Viturnae before managing to spread on their own. This land has the most forms of sentient life unique to due to the planes of Vitality and Void having a role in the river of souls which is also why they are all incredibly humanoid and even human like. The other lands before they started interacting only had one or two sentient races unique to them as opposed to this land's four. Like the other three this land didn't initially interact due to becoming a seed and has since started intermingling with the other three. And there we have it! The forth and final land infused with the last two inner planes. This one was difficult due to void and vitality not giving me a lot to work with. Ironically this land has the most sentient races originating from it and there is no form of necromancy whatsoever. I was putting off finishing this playlist because of that. If you or anyone else wants to use these lands as a campaign setting to further develop them please feel free. Heck I would like to join if possible. There isn't much point in creating a setting if no one uses it.

Thank you, this was a great video! One of my homebrew minor deities, Cetus, the Cosmic Whale, is a perfect addition! Cetus was once a constellation of stars that shone brilliantly in the sky long before the planet was inhabited by sentient beings. However, over time, the constellation began to shift and move, taking on the shape of a whale. This act of self-creation was nothing short of miraculous and caught the attention of the gods Rod (the god of time) and Horos (the god of magic). Impressed by Cetus's ability to shape and redefine himself, they granted him the status of a minor deity, representing the stars and divination. 🌃

Nice video. I can see this adding some lovely details to a more occult-focused game. Mostly it's a nice bit of detail for character creation that might encourage me to actually think about when my character's birthdays are. (Usually I don't even bother with an age.)
@TheMythKeeper
@TheMythKeeper Жыл бұрын
You don't bother with age! That seems like an important detail - though I admit birthdays aren't something I focus too much on too.
@lkriticos7619
@lkriticos7619 Жыл бұрын
@@TheMythKeeper Well I don't kow my exact age or remember my brithday (I have it written down and can back calculate but it isn't info I ever have to hand). I get on OK. XD It isn't really essential information for me during the character creation or playing process. I need to know what a character *looks like* and I need to know the kind of life experience they have/had. But that can be pretty far off of age. I've had characters that look much older or younger then they actually are. And character whose amount of life experience doesn't really line up with what people would expect from how old they look. Basically, for me, it's much less important than the character's history. It's information that doesn't really help me play them. So I put it in the same mental category as all those 'get to know your character!' questions that expect you to know favourite foods, colours etc. It's just.... fluff. Odd extra details that don't make a character the same way their response to a situation does.
@TheMythKeeper
@TheMythKeeper Жыл бұрын
@@lkriticos7619 That makes a lot of sense. As you can probably tell from my videos - I'm a very detail oriented person, so typically when I make a character I figure out when and where they were born; what their family was like; where they traveled in life. When I play dwarves or elves I will sometimes fill out decades worth of details in notebooks that I can share with my GM. My method may be overkill though...!
@lkriticos7619
@lkriticos7619 Жыл бұрын
@@TheMythKeeper I thought I'd replied to this but my internet connection keeps shorting out. Honestly as a GM I love when players have detailed notes and backstories, it gives me a lot to work with and options so I can fit in *something* without going too off the plot. I think when I'm making characters (pcs or npcs) I focus on personality and a few defining events in their past. I fill out different details depending on what matters to the character. There's an npc in one of my current games who I know has a large family. I don't actually know how many siblings he has. Because the important things for his character were: he's younger, he's a bastard and that he's managed to eclipse the 'legitemate' siblings. But I've had characters where I named and gave personalities to every family member because for that character it mattered. Details to fit the concept I guess? In the end the main thing is finding an approach that works for you and your games.

Hmm. I wonder if those that created the calendar know that Sunday was changed to the last day of the week when it was the first, something we still see on calendars now and older ones. Saturday was the last day and that goes into the Roman Church changing the day of rest itself from the last day to the first.

I've long wondered if the phrase "Cosmic Caravan" is a subtle reference to Star Trek (TOS). I don't know about the in-world explanation, but the meta on this is that I think the explanation is that the months of the year were selected very early on in the Pathfinder development process. If they had picked the months today I think we'd have a different set of deities represented.

Its an interesting take on constructed Astrology, though pre-Modern Astrology was pretty different and the Signs were named after Constellations and aren't the same thing, and reductionisn of Fate by Sign didn't go that far, and the Ascendant is more important in terms of Fate than the Sun
