Great stuff Dave. But keep in mind there’s a lot of tall people out there. I find all of these types of blankets to be too short.

Dave, please consider making a 10×10 version. I would always use this as my go-to camping tarp if it was 10×10.

Dave I'm 6'4" and these blankets are simply not made large enough, i would like the manufacturers to take note and make these at least 7' long as someone else noted a 7x7 would be great.............

Kind of a whiny thing, but it would be cool if you could buy an OD blanket with a HighVis case or vice versa. That way you could carry one item and use it either for high vis signaling (with the pouch) or for more inconspicuous cover (with the OD blanket). Basically one purchase for both cover and signaling purposes by mix-matching case and blanket colors.

Dave, I am not someone who feels I can give you advice, but you have always said to think out of the box. I have used each of the emergency blankets you mentioned. As I was using them, the thought came to me, and I am sure many others as well, is that they would be near perfect if they were 7X7 tarps. I am 6'2 and that makes them a little shy for comfort on very wet days. I also believe that the square tarp gives more more flexibility. It is my opinion that who ever develops the larger version of this tarp, with the same structural integrity as your, will be hitting it out of the park. Hello from Oklahoma! Sounds like a great product. I've seen these for years, but really people are bigger now. I'm 6' 3" and never bought one because they are made to small. If it was say 8x8 I would buy several. Thanks for all you do. Maybe I should buy 2. Problem solved.

Hey Dave, I saw Corporal Kelly's video on the other, new blanket. I like the bigger grommets, thicker material and the cheaper price on the Pathfinder version. I will probably end up with at least one of them. What I would like to ask, is why no one offers these in something bigger like a 7'x7' or 8'x8'? The 5'x7' blankets aren't hardly be enough for one person, much less two, like I would need it to do. I watched your video, where you combined two of these, with a long fire, that would house a victim and a rescuer. The two combined would give you, something like a 7'x8', with the overlap. Is that something you could check into. It seems, I'm not the only one who would like to see a bigger one of these. If you do, let me know, I would be very interested. I like that it comes in two colors. I like the green and am only 5'8", like you, but would like a larger sized blanket.8x8 or 9x9, just being picky. Thank you for a great video and a great product, please keep the videos and products coming.

I've been using the Arcturus mylar sport utility blanket for a ground sheet for a while now, but I'm gonna check the Pathfinder one.

Dave, I do not disagree with anything you said in the video. Your blanket is better than either of the other two shown. I have no doubt it is the best buy for the money. When you put the blanket up and the sun showed through the back of it (towards the end of the video), it looked like either the coating was not uniform or had worn thin at the folds. Would you comment on this? I am NOT knocking you, your business or the blanket. It's just an honest question. Thanks in advance for your response.

That emergency blanket looks nice and I do like the idea that the tie down holes are made more reliable and can last a long time.

I have the Pathfinder green. I wouldn't trade it for anything, It has been beat by kids in a youth group, used many times by my grandson and me practicing his skill at set up and lashing, and even put up in a storm. Still going strong... and the bag is generous enough to hold a roll of bankline and other items for an unplanned camp situation.

I would have to echo some of the dimension concerns as well....I would love to see this offered in say a 12 x12 ft size and would gladly pay $25 - $30 for that size! Just throwing that out there, as there are quite a few of us well over 6ft that enjoy the outdoors! Hope you consider that idea??

Mr. Canterbury I like your channel, your teachings, and your gear.... I have a question and I don't know how to get it done or if it would be worth it... The question is can the emergency blanket idea be made bigger and more robust to use as a full size tarp for better shelters? I was thinking about a 10' × 10' tarp size unit, 2" webbing around the edges, full webbing reenforced grommets, and tie outs every 2 ft. Around the edges and in the center ( like on the DD tarps ), would it be to heavy? Expensive? Or realistic for using for a shelter? Respectfully.

The pathfinder blanket I received doesn't have the thicker coating. It's almost identical to my arcturus blanket. Kinda sad it's not the same one shown in the video😔

Do you recommend the orange or the green? I know it depends on the emergency, like whether you're lost or bugging out...

The Pathfinder appears to pack into a smaller form factor than my Arcturus. The Pathfinder appears to be more flexible. Is the Pathfinder lighter? Could you give us a comparison in the comments? You’re gonna hate this, but it would be nice to see some sort of comparison of pulling on all three and seeing which one breaks last. The grommets seem to be the weak point in all of these things. Having said this, I would still go the pathfinder route with this one without the test.

Sadly, I've seen the Arcturus blanket fail miserably under stress, the material is not rip stop and the stitching is low quality. For use as a simple shelter, it looks fine. But I require something that will stand up under adverse [ within reason ] conditions. Most any tarp will suffice in good weather, still looking for something that will hold up in poor conditions.

i have a couple of the grabber but i have learned that 5 x 7 just aint cuttin it, im a big dude wish these were made 6 x 10 !!!....jmo
