"Passed away from *extreme* old age" is the single most dwarven thing i have ever heard. This dude was so awesome even death had to wait it's turn. Pharasma must have been hella anoyed.

@@thetoweroftomes He was also the sort of guy who displayed his victims' heads as a show of force. I actually love that because it forces you to acknowledge how deep the dwarves' hate of orcs runs, to the point the differences between the two kind of disappear.

This is really making me want to create a Dwarven Homebrew campaign. Retread the history of the sky citadels as you travel to them solving mysteries and piecing back together some grand conspiracy that dates back to the origins of the Quest for the Sky.

There's definitely the potential for that. From Taargick's conquest of his own people that's been painted over to look like he was a "righteous" king, to the way the dwarves didn't so much free humans and halflings and the rest from the orcs as reconquer the Inner Sea for themselves, to the way dwarves have historically tried to enact genocide against the orcs, there's a lot of skeletons in the dwarves' collective closet for a gang of Pathfinders or other adventurers to uncover.

I love this. Not only is it well made and compelling, I feels very much like something told by a Dwarf himself. I don't just mean the narrator's voice. I mean the narrator clearly has a strong bias towards the Dwarves in this telling. However, if you look closely, you can see some places where the Dwarves were less than laudable (like how they essentially conquered the world or take credit for ending the Five Kings Wars themselves rather than the Kalistocrats blackmailing them). There's a lot of room for some interesting storytelling here.

Love this video! The Dwarves themselves, not so much. They are supposed to be Lawful Good? I have been suspicious of their claim for a LONG time. As we know from Starfinder time, this doesn't end well . . . .

Wish fantasy lore focused more on reactions and consequences to events than the list of events themselves. Living to see the Quest For Sky only meet the Age of Darkness, or an empire fall apart to terrible civil wars would be really defining moments for a culture. They would be immensely emotional experiences for anyone. But all that is said about is that they fought orcs, and then fought more orcs, and then fought eachother until they didnt because that was dumb, so lets fight orcs again.

Those stories are told in the different fantasy novels where we get a closer look at the people of the world and their emotions. :)

So what I gain from this is, Orcs did nothing wrong the Dwarves invaded the Orc’s home and took over

Well the dwarves and orcs were ancient enemies. The dwarves drove the orcs from their home to the surface, where the orcs pillaged, murdered and almost destroyed human civilization. So I guess it depends on who you ask :)
