Welcome back to our Deep Dive series!
After the Lands of the Linnorm Kings, what better place to go than the opposite side of the Inner Sea. Here we look at Vidrian, the southernmost nation on the Inner Sea map. This unique country changed subtantially between 1st and 2nd edition and I've done my best to combine both 1st edition resources on Sargava and 2nd edition resources on Vidrian to provide a really complete picture.

I've fallen so deeply in love with the Mwangi Expanse since I've been playing with Strength of Thousands adventure path. What a wonderful and cool region. Though I'm an easy mark since this is a place we're orc's are a common ancestry and super unique. Very excited for an eventual deep dive from you here.

I wasn't sure how this video would fare because I know this is a lesser known region, but I had a lot of fun here playing Serpent's Skull and I was really pleased with how this country changed between editions. Hopefully Vidrian will get some more love in some upcoming APs.

@TheMythKeeper

@@jedidiahbarnes6127 My one suggestion on that AP is to provide your players with scrolls of teleport or some other means to get back to Eleder periodically. One of the things I found was that the 2nd and 3rd episodes were among my favorites, and leaving behind all the politics of Sargava to go and dungeon crawl for the next 3 chapters became a bit repetitive for my players who enjoy a bit of political intrigue too. If I were to run it again I'd try to weave in more of the politics and tied in the various factions successes/failures in exploring Saventh-Yhi affect their influence in the city whenever the players returned. Just a thought ;-)

@@TheMythKeepera little late to this conversation, but definitely a good idea. My ideal playthrough of SS utilizes a few Pathfinder Society modules which extend the pace of the second book a fair amount before ever making it into the depths of the ruins…
@TheMythKeeper
@TheMythKeeper Жыл бұрын
@@____________838 Yeah, absolutely. My main criticism of SS is that you spend so much time away from Sargava. If I run it again I would at the very least give the players access to some convenient teleportation magic, so they can spend more of their downtime in Eledar. Book 2 ended up being a real favorite and we dropped a bunch of interesting threads once the game became all about killing snakes.

Is there some way to request the next region covered? I've heard some things about rune magic in Pathfinder that is really cool and the history behind Thassilon/New Thassilon (I think I'm spelling that correctly) would be really cool to hear about. I'd be more than happy to monetarily support content of this quality in return. If you don't take requests, that's fine too. I can feel the passion for your craft emanating through your entire channel. If, in order to keep that up, you focus on the places/things that interest you most, I'll be more than happy to be along for the ride.
@TheMythKeeper
@TheMythKeeper Жыл бұрын
I do take requests into account, and I actually every comment, and if you like you can offer a Super Thanks too. ;-) As far New Thassilon though, I did a Varisia deep dive and I talk about New Thassilon in that video, so it will probably be a minute before I go back to that region. I think eventually I'll do a series on fallen empires - Azlant, Thassilon, Serpentfok, Ghol-gan etc... (there are so many in Pathfinder) and Thassilon might get revisited there, but I think it will be a while before I get there.

I don't yet, but you can surely send a Super Thanks my way. I have probably 6-7 videos of backlog now, so even if I start working on something, it takes a minute for it to hit the channel. Impossible Lands are coming, but will be in multiple videos (1 per nation) so it will take a while to get them. None of those nations are yet in the current backlog, so its probably a bit of a wait I'm afraid. But stick with me, we'll get there.

*Okay okay okay! guys hear me out, I know this is going to make me sound stupid but...* I have a question; is this real? Is this a documentary? Because this sounds so good I know you're going to call me dumb, but damn this actually good, seriously this is good. Sounds like a real life British Empire colonial expansion, from 16th to 19th century. And the real life African colonization and North and South American colonization. *THIS IS SOME SERIOUS WOULD BUILDING.*
