Trying to understand pathological liars can be very difficult.
There isn't an established set criteria to identify and treat a pathological liar.
The only treatment available is treatment that centers around poor impulse control, poor behavior management, and anxiety.
And to make things worse, there is no established list of behaviors or actions for psychologists to identify when someone is a liar. So many psychologists and other mental health professionals may be deceived A LOT during psychotherapy.
These liars have the upper hand because a lot of professionals miss important red flags or simply don't have the skill necessary to identify them.
In this live chat, I discuss the signs and behaviors of pathological liars so you can identify them in and outside of your family.

Pathological liars seem to encapsulate entire family systems, however. Do compulsive liars know that they are constantly lying? I frequently observe that they forget things they say. LOL

I would love if you did a segment (if you ever have time😊 ) on friendships with pathological liars how it relates with low self esteem. I just realized my friend is one, wanted to know the repercussions for the most part they seem nice

Sometimes they don't seem lazy but they have habit of looking very busy and distracted with something "important" so they have no time for you when in reality they are not doing all that much. And they will do a lot of yard work, build and fix things, but only if you initiate the need and then a lot of these projects when you look back was filled with them trashing and bullying you throughout the process....try moving with them or build a house together....ha have kids or pets with them.

Going by your suggestion that lying may decline 25 years range) Would the development of the Pre-frontal Cortex be a factor in the decline if there is no arrested development? What is your take on charging juveniles with adult offences?

A woman I know encouraged her 24 year old daughter to lie in a job interview. Two women in her church coached her. Of course she didn’t get the job bc they found out. I mostly feel sorry for her daughter. Most of her lies are about how she’s never had Covid. 😳

I got home safely from Sunriver, Or. and I need my Tamara fix. When you're being toyed with by liars you need an strategy to get out. Do you ever wish you could just FF to the good part of your life. That's when you know that you are not in a good place.

I’ve had some very uncomfortable experiences with pathological liars. I have a cousin who is one and she constantly lies and manipulates others to cause me harm due to jealousy, so now I’m traumatized. I took it lightly when I was younger, but now that I’m older, I’m starting to feel unsafe. Do you have any advice on how to separate from a family member with this problem?

One of my older sisters bullied me during childhood, then all throughout life. I finally went NO Contact. 20 years too late. Get STRONG and take care of YOU - there is no changing them!

@@bellakrinkle9381 You’re right. I always feel bad for going “no contact” on family and end up caving in but I really need to for my sanity. How do you go completely “no contact” when this person might show up at family events? Do you just stay cordial and respectful at the events but keep your distance or not attend at all?

My spouse of 27y just laid 3 fancy chocolates on his desk and soon after I arrived home he thanked me for them. ?he's bored? He's looking for a dopamine hit from planning this and carrying it put? He's hoping to get in a fight with me? He's trying to triangulation me with some unknown female who he's getting mixed up with me? I don't care. If I bring it up...he will do what he has done for decades...narc traits of deny, blame, ignore....could play dumb and suddenly tell truth or just end it with agreeing to disagree. I can't tell anyone bc this is so petty yet it occurs almost daily....anytime he's around. They try to have you thinking about them all the time or have you searching for his receipt for 3 candies. They want to control your mind and your time

My poor grand daughter who I would have died for is 19 and just like her mom. She can create chaos since the age of 9 or 10 that would have adults spinning. This is purely from the evil one.
