I can still vividly remember when we were exposed in the ward for the first time. I had no idea back then on what is an endorsement and why is it important to really listen and take note during endorsement time. I can say that this helped me save my time in assessing the patient's chart and as well as communicating with our other health care providers. This video would be a great help for our incoming student nurses and give them an idea before they will be exposed in the hospital.

Handover is one of the most critical duty of a nurse. As a student nurse, I am so thankful that I have access over this video as it gave me the idea on how to properly do a handover. Before when we had duty f2f pre pandemic, i used to think where they put the endorsements, being assigned to charge nurse yesterday, I finally learned that kardex is used for endorsing and kardex is where they put the doctor’s order to prioritize what to do for that day. It is very important to check doctor’s order to be able to know and write down things to be done. There’s no room for error when it comes to kardex so that when you endorse the patient, you will immediately know what to do.

From this video I have learned that endorsement and patient handover has to interact with other staff nurses, and is important so that the clients are appropriately cared. Looking at the Kardex, I see that the flow of endorsing a patient is starting from bottom left where the data of the patient is written. Then counter-clockwise specifically from diagnosis, diet, parenteral fluids/infusions, to treatment/management, to medications and lastly, laboratories.

Hi! This video reminds me of my first time of hospital exposure that I only wrote the frequency of the medication because the endorsement t'was too fast.
