Today’s video is a little long, but I walk you through how I patina my bags and how I care for them overall. This might not work for everyone, but it works for me thus far. However, I’m always open to learning other options (like I want to try mink oil!) so feel free to leave me your ideas in the comment box or on insta.

Can you tell us how you darkened the shiny bright red speedy handles with copic marker? Since the glazing on the handles is so slick and shiny I’m worried it wouldn’t absorb properly and might then transfer to the vachetta when you use the handles. Did you pre treat the glazing somehow before using the marker? Did you just use one coat of marker or more?

Hello I have a problem with a wrist of my speedy skate is not the same color as on the rest of the bag. The store told me it’s rare, that it’s not the same animal leather that was used for one of my handles. Have you ever had this trouble or do you know people who have happened? It upsets me😐

Is your bag authentic or a replica? I love the golden honey color the leather gets when it patinas.

Thank you so much for this!! I have been trying with Mink oil and its just not getting the color I want. I think using Olive as a base is a great idea:) I also sent you a request via Instagram 😊

@Priscillas purses I did olive oil on the handles and it made it really dark☹️ would you know how to lighten it? Thanks 😊

I thought not to use oils like these cause they could go rancid, is that true? How has it been holding up?

Hi! I usually do 1 coat of olive oil to start the process along with leather conditioner. And then I’ll do mink oil to continue the patina process. I haven’t had any issue with it going rancid yet 🤞🏻

Olive oil is a food product. It will eventually rot the leather.

I really don't mean or want to be THAT person, but Damier is pronounced: Da me A (like the letter a). I just know if I was pronouncing it wrong I'd want someone to let me know. 😬 Great video though. Thanks for all the info!

True the leafs aren’t great as this was def an earlier bag in my collection and also one I didn’t mind testing on aka trying the various patina methods 😉
