Patricia has departed this world after a courageous battle against breast cancer. (18 June 1998 - 1 October 2023) She will be dearly missed by all her family, friends and fans throughout the world.

I love everything about her performance. She has the most beautiful, incredibly pleasing voice. Her acting is so natural, costume is great. On top of that, she is a living doll. Edit: I just read that she passed very recently. This is a great loss.....she brought such beauty and joy to the world.

pj was a great actress as well as being a magnificent singer!! her name must not be allowed to just fade away! a book, documentary, musical or film should be written or produced about her life story - guaranteed to be a real weepie! i see there is already an 'AI video of patricia on you tube! this is something which could be pursued, like it was with abba & the beatles!! in the meantime, there should be a compilation album released featuring her best 30 songs requested by her fans! proceedings could go towards breast cancer research! songs could include, 'once upon a time in the west', 'this track', 'meine lippen' + the other 3 songs from this concert, 'the doll' aria, 'quando ne n vo', 'fruhlingsstimmen', also 'rusalka', 'pie jesu', 'oh mio babbino caro', 'ave maria', quel guardo il cavaliere' & also some songs sung in english, such as 'think of me', 'memory', ''hush...' from 'acis & galatea', 'the evenstar', 'white christmas', 'over the rainbow', 'dancing queen', 'moon river' & of course, 'summertime'!! in fact, a whole album of songs sung by patricia could be released in the uk & america!!

i agree with you!! a biography, documentary, musical, film & cds & videos should flood the western market!! it may have been that pj's management protected her too long from touring europe, britain & america but it is not too late to introduce her to these audiences who may not know much about this fantastically talented young lady!! i don't know a lot about AI but i'm sure something could be done about portraying her on the big screen, rather like abba & the beatles recently!!!

But I do Not agree with the person who replied to you that she seems like a "crossover between Lucia Popp and Ingeborg Hallstein". I do not believe she can be seen as similar to any other soprano. this was a magnificent concert at which patricia displayed all her singing & acting brilliance! it is indeed very sad that she was not allowed to go on & conquer the world stage & screen! surely there must be plans to promote her work throughout the world? it is the least she deserves!! a book, film, compilation cd/dvd can't be hard to produce!! her songs are constantly shown on you tube!! maybe a spot of 'AI' would help!!

Patricia has such a beautiful, powerful voice that she manages to project with such elegance while enchanting the audience with such mesmerizing charm. There are many opera singers whose work I greatly admire and respect - but I don't think I have ever been so awestruck by a singer like I am by Patricia. When she sings "Kaum will entschwinden die Nacht" in "Frühlingsstimmen", my heart skips a beat. Děkuji mnohokrát! :)

I heart her voice today and three days ago, I always come back to it. I listen to her since I was a teenager. She is only six years older than me, but my favourite female opera singer. I only learnt this morning she passed away with only 25 years on 1st October. I will always keep her voice deep within in my soul and I am sure many will do the same. 💔

Stunning and musical, natural voice. I hope to goodness she doesn't end up in later years with a mangled, over-wide vibrato like so many opera singers who sacrifice tone for projection. Her vibrato is absolutely perfect right now, along with the quite beautiful sound she makes, and with perfect intonation. She is a wonderful antidote to the warblers and over-the-top "Divas" who inhabit the opera world.

She has done something very difficult for most child singers, to be able to take the leap the generational leap into adulthood! most of them do not succeed, and she has done it wonderfully well, before she was very good, now she is simply extraordinary !!!! ... a true Goddess of singing!

As I relax and take in the depth of these sounds, I lay back with eyes closed and absorb the sweet beauty therein... and all that I can conjure in my minds eye during this phase of thought life, is absolute maelstrom. Chaos, mass destruction and outright anarchy.

I love this song, and I love Patricia's interpretation of it. She has the acting ability to go along with her singing ability. The facial expressions and emotions seem superb to me. Not a surprise, of course, because I have seen her also singing 'les oiseaux dans la charmille' which requires a lot of acting as well although in a very different character, one being perhaps a bit of a coquette and the other mechanical.

@norman smithers Thanks, Norman - I've seen all these except the Romeo & Juliet - must track that down! The Acis & Galatea I found utterly charming, quite apart from Patricia's exquisite performance (which goes without saying!) - but the whole production and not least the enthusiasm of the conductor. Compared with you, I am a recent addition to PJ's fan club. I first encountered her a couple of months ago with the Mozart Laudate Dominum which immediately captivated me not just with the extraordinary purity of her voice, but with the intense spirituality and sincerity of her rendition. This was truly "praising the Lord"! Whatever glittering future awaits her (and the world's her oyster), I do hope she will continue with singing sacred music - here I feel she really is touched by the finger of God.
