The violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja is a musical wild phenomenon. "If I have the choice between perfection and risk, I choose risk.- it's more interesting and more exciting". We spend 24 hours with the Moldavian and charismatic violinist known for playing barefoot. Rehearsals with the Staatskapelle, salon music at the Brandenburg Gate, a meeting with choreographer Sascha Waltz and her husband, phone calls with her sick daughter and next a performance at the Berlin Philharmonic.

I heard her in the Ligeti years ago ! So glad she is producing and collaborating with others to bring new music into the concert hall. She must have a perfect bow technique she takes greater liberties with rhythm and text than anybody since the pianist Argerich . Pogorelich perhaps went to far but who really wants the same Beethoven after over 200 years -1827 . Violin concerto 1806 I dont remember the symphonies are eassy he Eroica no.3 is 1803 . But with Mozart I'm sure she knows to reign some of the spontaneity in to suit the propriety of that age . I'm glad she's getting this attention .Her conceptions are great she really makes it new but the spirit of the music is right .Music has to be more than correct and technically neat ; it's important that the old elitist museum music fashion is killed and we have something alive . Like DuPre I hope her fascination never dies . I hope she come to South Florida !

If you do what is written in the notes, is more than enough. But don't hide behind the notes, stand for it!!!
