EB wasn’t calling plays last year. He was walking around the sideline with a headset on without batteries in it and literally no one listened to a word he said during a game all year in 2022. Dude is a solid RB coach. That’s it.

I had to watch the highlights from the last game... Nick is just burying himself in saying Purdy doesn't make great plays. He had a ton this past week.. Rolling out to both sides, stepping up or out the pocket. Hes trippin.. Also knocked Herbert with a fractured hand and three touch downs. Dak still too high, and so is traveor lawrence for that matter.

Imagine knocking Brock Purdy for throwing simple passes to open players that result in good yardage that contributes to winning games. He's doing everything a quartberback should do and is playing to his team's strengths (the 49ers have great running backs why would you throw it down field when you can just give it to a guy who will consistently get you 10-20 yards).

I have talked to a number of QBs throughout the NFL. I can confirm, they all consider it more important to climb Mahomes Mountain than MVP/All Pro/Pro Bowl.

I feel Herbert’s legs are a little understated for him dropping. He had a big first down run and multiple running TDs. Yards weren’t great but the run game cooked a couple big runs and the defense gave good field position.

I feel like there's times where he should be putting the game away and it's a quick 3 and out drive. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty nit-picky of me to say this, but it's something he's been excellent in doing in the past and we're just not seeing it this season at the rate we used to see it. It's only been 4 games though, so maybe he just needs to get in better sync with the new OC and figure out how to get Quentin Johnston more involved (especially now that Mike Williams is out for the season).

Purdy won't play his whole career with the NFL's top RB, top 3 TE, and 2 top 10 receivers; As well as the best LT in the league. Purdy also won't play his whole career with a top 5 defense. There are reasons he is playing well, and its not all because he is the next Tom Brady, it's because he has 15 top players on his 53 roster with him.

He just needs to win big games. He barely escaped the cowboys last year in the playoffs. Teams they've played have been mediocre, not the 49ers fault they play who they have to and they dominate but the roster overall is just great. We need to see him in big games against elite teams. We'll see what happens with the cowboys, I personally think cowboys aren't as good as ppl think they are. Horrible in the red zone and Dak ain't it, but we'll see.

But has thrown the 26th most passes. He’s never asked to carry the load because of their insane running game. That’s the point. And they’ve played 3 defenses that give up a ton of yards and points and one that is average. If he keeps his numbers that high versus Dallas and Cleveland then Nick has to change his opinion some

@@chiggsytube Fumbles lost is a tough stat for QBs. Did they see the sack coming or were they a runner when they fumbled or did they get blown up from the blindside because an o lineman messed up a block. I think the first 2 situations are valid but the last really shouldnt count on the QB

I feel like Stroud should overtake Geno if he keeps playing the way he has been. He only completed 16/30, but he got 2 TDs and over 300 yards from those 16 passes. And he did it with 3rd string offensive linemen and no star WRs (although Nico Collins is starting to break out a bit). Not saying Geno is bad, but I am not as impressed by Geno as I have been by Stroud. ESPN just put out the stat that Stroud is only the 6th QB ever to average 300 yards a game with no INTs through the first 4 games of a season and the other 5 QBs are Mahomes, Rodgers, Peyton, Brady, and Brees. The kis is a lock for OROY if he keeps this up and could get some Pro Bowl attention as well.

To my eye, Stroud / Geno / Purdy / Goff / T-Law / Stafford look like they're basically set as QBs 9-14 this season, unless something dramatic happens. I think you could probably rank them in any order and make a good argument. Since only two of them can be tier 4 and the rest slide to tier 5 (slots 11-15 if you were to rank), I'm not going to argue too much with whichever QBs end up where, as long as they don't fall any further without some real catastrophic performances.

Purdy's row would put him ranked somewhere from 10-14, which really isn't THAT low. The debate is just splitting hairs. His skill position players are SO good that I don't think it's reasonable to say he's a top 5 guy, even with the stats, because his stats do get inflated by the talent around him. I also think it's telling that when Josh Johnson came in against the Eagles the team COMPLETELY fell apart. Purdy is a stud, but unlike most of the guys above him we don't know what happens when the game is put on his shoulders. Personally, I'd have him a tier up, swapped with T-Law, but I don't think it's crazy to say that he's somewhere around the 10th-best quarterback in the league (assuming you're calculating both this season's performance and existing pedigree).

We need to stop punishing Brock for playing great. No other quarterback has played this well under shanahan. Not even Jimmy. Purdy gets some credit here.

@@geoffreyclarkames9390 Purdy absolutely gets credit for what he's been able to do, but I actually think the Jimmy comparison is telling; Jimmy got SO many wins in this system and is an absolute tire fire outside of it. Nick is a little too low on Purdy, Broussard is a little too high. I like Purdy at 8-10. Their debate makes for good TV, though I do think it's getting a littttle tired.

Dak has been lightyears better than Hurts and Trevor and he is close to Herbert stat wise but he gets the edge because he is winning and blowing teams out in spectacular fashion.
