After winning his 3rd Super Bowl in only 6 seasons, it’s fair to say that Patrick Mahomes is the face of not only the Kansas City Chiefs, but the entire NFL. Ahead of his matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, we will be discussing what makes Mahomes great, and why he will end up as the greatest football player who ever lived.

I’m a big Red Raider fan, I’ve seen every Super Bowl. I don’t go by ring count, because that takes the whole team. I go by what I see with my own eyes and he’s the best I’ve ever seen. The GOAT

He’s the best I’ve ever seen too. If you look at the other comments on this video, you’re not alone. Personally, I think there’s something to be said about Brady’s longevity and dedication to winning, but it won’t be long before Mahomes surpasses him, in my opinion. He doesn’t need 7 rings.

Yeah, i don't think that's really debatable at this point. The crazy thing is i believe his future will be even greater. We've got a good 10-15 years of Mahomes remaining. I gotta see this dude in person.

You are too funny, man, great video. I grew up south of KC so I've seen for better but mostly for worse, until now with all of the additions that you mentioned, Veach and Reid have been game changers.

Thanks for the love! ❤️ And yeah, it’s sometimes easy to forget about the dark times when you’re blinded by the light. I’m not familiar with KC, but I can imagine that the Chiefs are what hold that community together. It makes you wonder how much a struggling community like Detroit or Chicago would benefit from their pro teams being champions.

@@REAL_SportsTalkWell it's been coming out more how Veach, & Dorsey were VERY, VERY CAREFUL keeping things close to the vest abt Mahomes!!!! Pat really wanted to go KC & suddenly during the draft, he had to call them, & told them if they didn't pick him by what round 10 that another team was going to?!?! That's when Veach etc were able to changes things fast to move up in order for him to not go to this other team who were going to!!!

You're right, that may have been the single most clutch decision in the history of sports, and it wasn't even on the field of play. Talk about paying dividends, though.

Football has several major components. Certainly the quarterback. But second is the coaching staff. Then the other players. Are they here for the team or the paycheck? Someone recognized Hill was for the paycheck and traded him. So all of these elements have to line up if Mahomes is going to win 6 or 7. Can they do it?
@REAL_SportsTalk
@REAL_SportsTalk 3 ай бұрын
My prediction is yes, they can. But that is the burning question. They've done well drafting and developing players and establishing a winning culture. Now it's a matter of staying healthy and hungry. Brady had a decade-long period without winning a chip after winning his third, then won 4 more. Trust me, Mahomes will not go a decade without winning.

The thing about Pat, what almost seems like a oxymoron, is his demeanor & how he comes across. He says things humbly & even appears less dominating by his stature. BUT his competitiveness & drive to win, & how clutch he is, I think Brady having won so many, only makes Pat more hungry & drives him!!! So in a weird way, he's galvanized even more. If it was Joe Montana, he might NOT be as driven cuz Montana won 4 SBs!!!

@@tammyboon6259 Brady set the bar ridiculously high, that’s for sure. I don’t think we’ll see another guy who can potentially eclipse 7 SBs until they start allowing cyborgs to play 😂

I am a Red Raider and therefor a huge Patrick Mahomes fan, but until Mahomes has 7 SB rings, he is chasing Brady and the comparison is valid. The biggest similarity is they both realize if they get paid too much, they won't have enough overall team talent to win a SB. They are both trailing Jim Thorpe who blew people away without performance enhancers or any significant training.

That’s a great point, to be fair. A lot of this video is future speculation, but where they part ways, most glaringly, is their playstyle. Brady was drafted where he was because it’s incredibly difficult to gauge intangibles at the college level. Mahomes appears to have all the intangibles that Brady possessed, and elite talent and athleticism to go with it. in my view, all Mahomes has to do is avoid a decade-long championship draught and he’ll eclipse 7 rings, even if he doesn’t play until he’s 45.

I take it you think Bill Russell is better than Micharl Jordan? Since ring count is the only thing that matters, you must think that.
@raleighsanford5111
@raleighsanford5111 3 ай бұрын
@@CHIIIEEEEEEEEFFFFSSS I am pretty sure that is not exactly what I said, but results do matter. So assuming you want to go on a side quest, Bill Russell would be a dominant player in any era of basketball, but I don't think Jordon would be dominant in the era of big men that Russell and Chamberlin played in. I don't think Jordan's frame would allow him to get the basket as often if he played in the era of Russell. Also, Jordan got his 6 rings with the same coach & core group of players, but Russell played in a NBA of 8 teams for most of his career. Not to mention Jordan played in the extremely lax rules era that killed the NBA IMHO. Brady won 7 rings with 2 different teams, 2 different HCs, and a consistent rotating cast of supporting players. Brady accomplished a lot more than Jordan or even Russell. So uh, no comment about Jim Thorpe? I guess you agree on him being the best American athlete ever?

@@bsmith8943 I think Mahomes has the ability, mindset, and work ethic to pass Brady, but staying healthy long enough is a legit issue/question. That is part of what makes Brady great, he was able to play at a higher level for so much longer than most. Also, he had the mindset that a fat paycheck was less valuable than SB rings, something Mahomes seems to agree with. Look at how many QBs were compared to Brady over the years, but couldn't maintain their high level success' Rogers and Wilson are good current examples. They are still good QBs, but not elite QBs any longer. Some of that is beyond their control and a matter of genetics.
