As an Isles fan, I am STOKED about the Roy hire. Isles just got a lot better, Roy's energy is now working for the Islanders. Awesome.

Patrick Roy was my all time favourite player as a young kid. I absolutely loved his brand of goaltending and he turned out to be one of the greatest to do so. My most prized possession was a Habs rookie card that was signed by him and to this day I am absolutely devastated that my mom grabbed the wrong box of stuff that was meant to go to the dump and I had that card in a protective case, knowing that it would be worth a lot of money later on. But it’s now sitting 40 ft under a landfill somewhere. Devastating.

I think Patrick Roy will be very beneficial for the Islanders with his excellent coaching abilities and abilities to motivate his players combined with eye for detail and passion for the game. He also has “presence as a coach!

"excellent coaching abilities" ????? Did I miss that moment of glory in his goofy past? Anyway, a college rink is a good place for him.

2014 Canada D men: Keith, Doughty, Weber, Bouwmeester, Pietro...... And looking at the forwards are littered with 2 way wagons. Crosby, Bergeron, Tavares, Getzlaf, Marleau, Toews, St. Louis...... Whomever scoreds that one goal should feel as much pride as a cup champion

Regarding Samsonov, it's always sad to see an athlete at the end of his career but of course twice, so, when he is a favourite source of yours .

A game changer. Roy's boss is wanting to breathe life into a moribund franchise. There will be players who are upset 😡. They will be moved.

Just a contest of who gets "moved" first -- players or Roy?

Elliotte may get a call from the 201 Area Code? I guess that means Lou Lamoriello has kept his mobile phone number from his time with New Jersey. Can't imagine Lou still living in North Jersey and commuting to Long Island.

man, it’s only common sense that the 2nd go around as a coach is best, the first time is a learning experience and the third time your jaded; and Elliot enough with the affected voice, please.
