@@mynovasite5173 Very cool to have a car for that many years. There are two 66 Nova's in my area...one is a L-79 Replica..."clone" Black with red interior, and one is a hot rod with a 500 horse stroker small block...I love those little Nova's! My uncle Rod used to drag race a 1962 Nova..I drove that car on a county road back in the late 80's...tubbed rear end, 14.5 to 1 compression 355...very scary fast!

Bob Silver ,My original engine is in the garage, on an engine stand, original 4 speed as well, I have a 400 small block stroker with dual 660 Hollys in it for " play" Car only has 23 thou on it, matching numbers engine too valuable to risk blowing up. And yes the older I get the more I love going fast. I worked as a State Trooper for years and always had a cruiser to drive ,so it was always a play car, never been snowed on always garaged, very rarely in the rain

Back in high school, 1975 i had this exact car. They called me the Chevelle kid. Owned that car for a decade even driving it to Ga. from Ma. when i was stationed at Ft. Gordon. I ended up driving it back to Ma. where it stayed till i left the service 9 years later. Like most stories end i had to sell it when i started a family. Every time i see a black 70 SS i think about the great days of my youth.

@@graystone3048 “True Barn Finds” is a thing. Sometimes car shows even have a special class for that. I’m not making it up. I actually think it’s cool, gives the rest of us hope that we too can find a gem that’s been tucked away for decades. They also make a cool visual counterpoint to all the shiny, restored rides at a car show. But don’t worry, the cars are typically only kept that way for a season before being gone through and preserved.

I grew up in Oshawa in the 70's; and was fortunate enough to see so many great GM built cars suped up, including this model! Just about everyone I knew was related to someone who worked at either of the GM Oshawa plants. There was always someone in the neighborhood, who was either restoring, or modifying cars right out of their driveways. Unfortunately, in Ontario, Canada, they throw down a lot of salt on the roads in the winter, in order to melt all the ice and snow; and back in the 70's & 80's, a lot of cars rusted away, as a result.

You get more house for your money there; and it's not so far from the GTA that you can't get what you need, when you need it. You might not recognize the GM North plant, though. They've torn it down completely. Built a plaza on the North-East corner of Adelaide Avenue; and a Costco based mall on the South-West corner. Not sure what they're doing with the South-East corner. Probably another mall.

My buddy scored a 66 4 speed Hemi Charger back in 78-79 with 1200 miles on it! A quarter mile at a time,it was an original drag car from birth. The drag team had a sister car Charger to it they blew the engine on and had crunched a fender of his while taking it off the trailer at the track. So they yanked the Hemi and installed it into it's sister, put his up in a back corner of the shop and forgot about it for a decade until my buddy scored it all those years later in pristine condition!!!he stuck it into the back of his shop too,so this car hasn't seen the out of doors sinc e it was rolled off the assembly line back in 66!!! He still has it last i knew 40ish lucky years later!!! He also scored a 67 Hemi Charger with the 727 for $1200 back in the mid 80s but the Hemi was missing, replaced with a 383 as so often happened to these cars back in the day. Man what a time capsule with all of the day 2 goodies in the trunk too!!! We named our M-16s when I was in the Army after a present or old girlfriend too,so Tina could be for that too. Mysteries abound!!! Thanks again y'all for sharing these wonderfully rare treasures with us when you can.

B.Y.G PERFORMANCE CARZ just goes to show how GM has lost its way. They’ve fallen so hard for cookie cuter SUV’s that’ll be forgotten junk in 8-10 years. As far as shutting down that plant, GM has sold its soul to shareholder profits which always boils down to cheaper and cheaper labor along with cheap materials. Sad really.

I didn’t think you could put ladder bars on a chevelle because they’re 4 link style and it’ll cause binding? My 71 hooks great with a forged internal brodix heads sbc

Maybe Tina is the name of the car? And is a single trac 3.31 gear ratio common for this car?

Most I'd think, all Beaumonts came from Oshawa, we had a 67 rag for years. They built these because of tariffs at the time.

I'd say most of the Chevelles sold in Canada were built in Oshawa. My Uncle's '70 GTO Judge was built in Oshawa(in Dec '69 too). Maybe out west they had California built, if they built them there.

Funny I live just north of the US border. As kids, we all very much craved US southern cars growing up. Most Canadian cars spent a minimum of their lives on winter roads, just enough to start the decay process.

Very nice car BUT a proper find for me is one with original paint and no filler. Still a nice car, a beauty but it needs a rear quarter at least. I like to see any dents.
