When you defeat the Sudowoodo, it changes the sprite from Sudowoodo to Twin. There is a hard limit on the number of sprites in outdoor maps, and they couldn't have both Sudowoodo and Twin sprites, so they made it a variable sprite. The same thing happens with the Rival in Olivine. He becomes the Swimmer sprite after encountering him. If you skip the encounter with him in Olivine, then the Swimmers on Routes 40 and 41 would be the rival instead.

Gold having one more item than Silver is false, as you can catch both box Legendaries in both games, and Ho-oh always has the Sacred Ash. You just get the one that isnt on your version's box at level 70 in the post game.

The 2 frame animation is a gen 3 thing. In Emerald, the sprites had 2 frames as a single sprite, where it would flash between the two with an effect on top. Crystal's animations were all completely unique and had multiple frames.

What you could, in theory, do if the Berserk Gene existed in the modern games, is send out a bulky Pokémon with Own Tempo, holding the Berserk Gene, and have the ally Prankster Pokémon use Swagger on it to give you a plus four boost at turn one. Alternatively you could get a Prankster Riolu use Coaching if you want to forgo one of those four attack boosts for some extra defense. Doing this with Mudsdale (Who can use Iron Defense on the same turn), or even Tinkaton, or Lickilicky would be scary as heck.

i hate doing this but corrections/nitpicks for the video you reacted to and some of your theories you thought up nitpick -that's gold not red, so there's no reason for his palette to stay red. i too yearn for the blue gold and red kris :(( note -there were 4/5 animation frames for each pokemon's entrance animations in crystal, and they didn't swap between the gold and silver sprites mainly because the squash and stretch code they used for animation in pokemon emerald didn't exist on the gbc. nitpick -japanese pokemon red and green had the same sprites, the updated sprites were only in both blues and english red video slip up -ho-oh is obtainable in all three versions so you're able to get sacred ash in all of the versions note -pokemon gold and silver were always separate, with ho-oh simply being like the mewtwo of the games before lugia was added, so they were separate versions from the start and not split last second. how would that have worked box art wise? no idea lmao nitpick -pokemon's kanto games had 7 different releases, and that's only if you mention the japanese and english releases nitpick -sudowoodo's animation still plays if you simply run, not just by using roar or whirlwind. is this a super obvious nitpick? definitely, just wanted to share it because it's funny to do if you don't care about the sudowoodo and want to just move forward. nitpick -are red and blue held together with spit tape and a wish? yes. are gold and silver? no, and saying that they were after seeing a glitch that they had to cheat to do kind of makes no sense tbh aside from this stuff the video was pretty good! keep making these fun reactions and im glad to see people learn fun facts about the generation im strangely addicted to 👍
